We have been on many great vacations, yet, they ALL pale in comparison to the magnificent postcard settings of Alaska. We cannot wait to go back and explore more of this beautiful state. And now that @AyaqGuyaq no longer lives there, it's safe to go back! Here is a gallery of photos we took on our journey, for those interested in seeing them: https://digitaledgephotography.zenfolio.com/alaska-2015 If you haven't been, GO.....before you cant get out and truly enjoy it. How many did you have to shoot to get the perfect inflight Eagle with Gull on it’s back inflight?(great shot). We took a cruise there and spent a couple days land on our own about a dozen years ago.. would like to go back. One of my biggest take aways was to learn there are worms that live on the glaciers!! .. They live on pollen and algae and if you touch them they will die from the heat of your hand...weird Awards

There were your typical waterfowl such as Heron's, gull's and Canadian Geese. I heard this chaotic sound coming through the tree's behind me and I saw this gull dive bombing the eagle. I grabbed my camera and just held the shutter down (I believe that was my 7D Mark II with 100-400 lens). The exposure wasn't really spot on, but I was lucky enough to grab a few in focus shots just at the right time. The Eagle was chasing the Gull's babies. The Gull was not having any of it and chased the Eagle away. It was pretty epic to watch. I also snapped an American Kestral chasing a Bald Eagle there pretty much the same way, although they did not turn out as good. We didn't do a cruise, we flew into Anchorage and planned our two week trip out ourselves. Alaska is an amazing place. Really a trip of a lifetime. Awards

No Herons in Alaska, bud, but I'm glad you appreciate my home-state. I agree, though, that all of you from the "Lower 48 (which is what we Alaskans call the contiguous states)" should get to Alaska. Definitely put it on your Bucket List. And, when you do, go in late June/early July--it doesn't rain much, and you'll get to appreciate the "Land of the Midnight Sun," like [B1] Station Smeg has. Lol, bud, harkening back to the past, with you and Laz. Glad you loved it. I, for one, am actually enjoying being here in the "Bay area." Learning lotsa Spanish, etc. El mas Loco? Lol. Have a great trip, bud. Ayaq Awards
