Not liking the new start menu, seems to take longer to get where you want to go. Was a pretty painless install though, kept everything I had installed- apps and drivers. In Windows 10 my drivers would all be changed to Microsoft outdated ones and there would also be about 25gig of used space for "Windows Old" which is not present after the Windows install with the Installation Assistant. Just have to get used to the UI changes. My Pc's that do not meet W11 requirements show a warning in Windows Update saying "what" is not supported. Do not see any way to revert back to W10, not sure if this is the case when updating through Windows Update. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11?ranMID=24542&ranEAID=nOD/rLJHOac&ranSiteID=nOD_rLJHOac-OYyBaKcrpFcaXS2mkpBY3w&epi=nOD_rLJHOac-OYyBaKcrpFcaXS2mkpBY3w&irgwc=1&irclickid=_3wexct0ae0kf6zdjaotq3lnicm2xrcjqi129pcec00 After looking around a bit it appears if you go to Settings/System/Recovery/Go Back, you can revert back to Windows 10 Edited October 5, 2021 by Tw33tle_Dee

No crashes or issues. Got it mostly for the Auto HDR function. If you have a good HDR monitor and beefy card, it's worth it for gaming, IMO. I know that the final build is supposed to come out today but not getting anything new when going to Windows Update. I guess I have to get the Installation Assistant.

There probably is a difference when updating from Win 10 to Win 11 and Win 11 beta (from Windows Insider program) to Win 11. : (

LOL, actually I found out what the issue was. Did a "winver" check and I was already on the latest release version which as of this writing is 21H2 (OS Build 22000.194). You'd think there'd be a simple pop-up saying "You're already running the latest version" but no.

UEFI supports drive sizes upto 9 zettabytes, whereas BIOS only supports 2.2 terabytes. UEFI provides faster boot time. UEFI has discrete driver support, while BIOS has drive support stored in its ROM, so updating BIOS firmware is a bit difficult. One zettabyte is equal to one sextillion bytes or 1021 (1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) bytes, or, one zettabyte is equal to a trillion gigabytes. Awards

When I did the beta a bit back COD4 played like crap, laggy and skipping frames. Had to uninstall the MSI Dragon program to get it to install. Still don't like the new taskbar nor the look of the Start button when opened. Also the Start button has quit working 6 or 8 times and have to restart Windows Explorer to get it to work again. Tried to use the Reg hack to return to the Win 10 Start look when opening up Start, but that was a no go. Worked in the beta but MS has killed that in the release version. Haven't done any benchmarks stuff yet but will soon as I also read about the performance drop with AMD CPU's. Using a local logon so widgets don't work unless I go with MS logon. Will test out COD4 on out FT1 server and see how that goes, but unless you really like rounded corners on things, there isn't much reason to upgrade. I don't use MS Teams, there is a cut down version of a online MS Office with it. Extremely limited control of my RTX 2070 in the display settings. My home network is still screwed as there is a master browser problem and my other systems can't see this one. So a bit more testing before I decide to roll back to win 10 or not. But all my programs seem to work. Awards

Frame rate was jumping from 35 to 500+. Tried some adjustments but nothing worked.... Good thing is that it only took 5 minutes to roll back to Win 10. So seems that Win 11 is just a lipstick upgrade for Win 10... and not a good shade right now if you ask me. Awards

Living out in the sticks has some advantages but the down side is that one is further from technology. If I can link the PC to my 4G modem-router, I may be better equipped. I am in no rush. Awards

Extremely laggy internet and random application crashes across both platforms. I'm usually excited about a new OS but not this time. I usually get the new MS OS rite away with the Windows Insider program but I opted out this time. They finally got win 10 working half as good as they kept saying it was at release lol. Think I'll wait atleast 6 months to a year before installing Win 11. Maybe by that time they will have all of the buggs worked out? Awards
