Hey everyone,

Last weeks scan of my gallbladder proved positive for "unknown gallbladder disease". My doctor the GP and the other doctors responsible for reviewing my scan, are recommending that my gallbladder be removed to save my life. I still have to run this by my other doctors, both my rheumatologist, endocrinologist and of course get a second opinion. What makes things even more complex is the request to move all my care to UCLA Medical Center. While I was hearing the bad news, my GP showed me the letter that my endocrinologist sent to UCLA Medical Center on my behalf, I didn't know that he was planning on doing this for me. My GP is planning on doing the same, so I guess I'm heading to UCLA Medical Center in the very near future with a surgery to boot.

My big question that I have, is it time to start an autoimmune therapy. I did purposely schedule the scan when my RA ( Rheumatoid Arthritis ) symptoms were at their worst. The scan previously to this one, which wasn't that long ago come up clean, which at the time my RA symptoms were light comparatively speaking. Stands to reason that the RA could be the culprit. Get it under control, the gallbladder may heal, hmm?

No sleep for the sick!

Having had it done I can tell you it ain't bad if they can do it Laproscopicly, a procedure using maybe 3 small holes.

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/007371.htm

Mine was real bad, gangerous they found out after removal.

I hope they do not have to filet you for removal.

BTW when my gall bladder went south I can say in all my life I never had such pain. Glad to get rid of it. No lasting side effects for me either.

I wish you good luck and a happy ending.

Like you they had an ideal of what I had but I had a ton of tests to verify what they suspected. I say go to the place that can give you the best care. Let me or manthis know how your doing bubbles and know that we care for you. Id trade places with you but were pretty much in the same boat lol

sense of humor is good to have bubles and like boomer said positive thinking

It's nowhere near as bad as you think. My wife had hers out about 4 years ago and, apart from some stomach problems when she eats too much fatty food, there have been no side effects. You are out the same day and recovered within a week or two

Just like Shamu said

Good luck brother. Any surgery is scary, trust me I know, but you will be fine. Get it out of there and move on

Peace

Bobby, come on, I just need wipers installed so when you shit yourself I can still keep on trucking. Wiping the glass off while trying to play without wipers is fucking disgusting. I don't like touching my keyboard with your shit all over them. However, I do need to see, so I do it!

Once I have those wipers installed all will be good! I'll be able to see through all the shit you send my way!

Hey, I'm not depressed over this situation. I knew this day was coming, the sooner the better, I say. I'm actually looking forward to having some real science applied on my behalf. Each doctor that I've met with over my health, all have said that I'm like a Dr. House patient. Not knowing is really what bothers me the most these days. Having this surgery will finally lead to some real answers.

Not sure which procedure they are using to remove it but my ex and a friend had it done via 2 different methods. When mt ex had it done it was a major operation and a huge incision, but when my friend had it done she said they did it with a 1 inch incision and used a machine that not only sucked it out bbut ground it up. She was up and about her life the same day! Hopefully thats the one they use on you. Speedy recover wishes coming at you!
