Very interesting Pinglo! If it does what they think it will then it will be a roomsaver for sure. Time will tell the "rest of the story."

drool...   :w00t:      Apple Mac has done it again!  :yahoo: New innovations, and doubling the current processing output of a MacPro (which runs both Mac OS and or PC Windows, as well as others).   :good:

My only question is: How much? :search:

Be prepared for an innovative number, and an empty wallet after the purchase!  :shok:

I'm beginning to list the reasons in my mind why I need one of these...  :acute:

12 core is nothing new in the server world. Question is is there any game or apps or program that a desktop user will be able to take advantage of? If not seems like a waste of money to me

It's called a unified cooling tunnel, big hole with a fan, I'll tell you what small item you should stick in it!

Not too shabby for a single chip, thinking we'll see 16 Cores (32 Virtual) next year.

12 cores? holly crap, that must be fast

It will be, very fast, unfortunately most games won't be able to leverage it's full power

my next pc too )

We'll all have to wait until December to find out!

And to you Mac H8rs, !fu

Plenty of Apps, FinalCutPro X, Motion, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Maya etc. etc. etc.  Games, not so much yet, may have to wait for BF5.  Certainly will run my COD4 a bit faster than now though.

The specs look good on paper. I can't imagine how this was engineered for thermal issues. Would you even have to overclock it? I can't believe there are fitted two dedicated GPU's. How many watts is the PSU? Probably going to be over 5k for sure. But it looks like a dream machine. Maybe the first Apple-Macinto$h product I will buy, if it lives up to the hype.

It's very much still on paper for the moment, probably won't see this until Q4.  Not just two dedi GPUs but 2 workstation class GPUs. The G4 Mac Cube from from the early 2000's was an attempt at something similar back then (and wasn't popular).  With all the external connectivity (6x 20GB Sec Thunderbolt!) this might succeed.  Can't wait!
