This isn't something that happens every time I log on but after I been online using the flash player quite heavily! I Google it and I don't find much of any solution that I can make sense out of or use! Do any other of you guys have this problem? Is there a solution without completely restarting my browser?

! HAVE TRIED AND RETRIED ALL THE DIFFERENT versions and they all suck big donkey balls!  Including the latest Waterfox! I hate the options out there! You would thing someone would just make something that works and if you want extra you go find them. Instead they just waste our time and their money coming up with garbage!

I gave up on Chrome even though I REALLY wanted to like it.  And for the most part, I do, but tab management totally blows in Chrome.  People have been bitching at Google for YEARS to open links you click in a new tab (or allow for a configurable option to set it to do that) and have not come even close to getting it done.  It's a basic requirement in my book, but even Firefox requires the TabMix Plus add-on to make that happen.  Nevertheless, TMP is an outstanding add-on and makes Firefox tabs a complete joy to work with.  Firefox continues to be the browser of choice for me when it comes to general browsing.  That said, I am setting up Chrome to be the browser of choice for me when using Google apps like Google Drive, Gmail, the Play Store, etc.  It just makes sense to use Chrome in those Google apps because you can be sure Google tested and developed all their stuff using Chrome.  But, yeah, everything else happens in Firefox over here.

A process cannot run in the background unless it has been started. I think you will find that it is the Google Updater for chrome that is running in the background. Disabling the updater can be done to avoid this. Google Chrome does not collect data to sell as they use it for targeted advertising. Additionally they only can collect data that you opt-in to or that you supply them with. Google Chrome consists of two .exe files that are run, a data store in your Appdata and temp update files in your program files folder and program data folder.

You are asking a browser to circumvent a web developers decision. We are the people decide what links open in new windows, new tabs or are directional. If they attempted to override what a web developer wanted it would be stupid.. which is what IE does with certain aspects of the website.
