Multiplayer modes ending for Crysis and Crysis 2

With Gamespy shutting down, Crytek has decided that it is simply going to kill multiplayer in Crysis because fuck you apparently.  The shutdown happens on May 31st.  This comes from a post on their official fourms here:  http://www.crysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=69126  We should probably have a big event on the hardcore server on that day to send it out on a high note.

@@WiZiD is actually working on this.  Apparently you can call EA support and they will give you an Origin key for the game and you can keep playing. He is still working out the details and is preparing a detailed forum post.  

 

At least that's what he told me...

All about the brand and numbers of players. But Crytek completely forgets that Mods of Crysis and Wars won't work anymore. Some are not in the stage to export it to CE3 and are stuck right now. Crytek has talked to EA about it, but wasn't worth it. Right now I am following some websites for a solution.

well...  WiZiD already has some keys in Origin given to him by user support. I guess we shall see soon enough if they work after gamespy is shut down....   I hope they do

 

 

edit:  I was reading the thread you linked.. looks like some code monkeys are making their own login server. SWEET! lol

I am so pissed off, I cant believe this bullshit. So many great mods will be gone, for one OFFROAD AND MANY MORE!!! We have to get one last nite of OFFROAD before the end. Those were truly the days, they could be gone for ever          . I wish I would have recorded a few of them.

You guys aren't very clear.Crysis is their 1st game.Then they made Crysis Warhead(SP)/Wars(MP) WiZiD's server,after that it was Crysis2 and then Crysis 3 the latest.You guys mention Crysis and Crysis2.So are they all going to be eliminated?

When they say Crysis they also mean Wars and Warhead. Those were pretty much standalone expansions. So they are no longer supported. I'm also figuring this because if Crysis 2 isn't supported, than Wars sure as hell won't be.

OK This is the way it went. I contacted support here. http://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/resume/500E000000AcpskIAB/?subject=game+inquiry+details&platform=pc&product=crysis-warhead&category=general-questions I selected live chat. It does take a long time (sometimes). But once I got to talk to someone they asked for my key code. I gave that to them. now he want me to take a picture of the box and he gives me a different link for that. Really???. Well I can understand. Crysis Wars piracy was ready bad from what I was told. So I sent him a pic of all 9 games I have. They responded "do you have enough of them?". That tells me that I was actually speaking with a real person. They gave me a code. This downloaded Crysis. Not the right game. The next day I spoke with someone else. They said OK we will give you another code. This downloaded Crysis Warhead....Not the right game. I have yet to try again but I was told that there is a patch or something you get from them to get wars. Now there is no reason we cannot play our server with the mods. People play with us all the time and they connect thru Origin. But they are 32bit and do not offer 64bit. Maybe if we make a big enough stick about it they can add the 64bitn file to their server. As DjMot was saying on the server that it does not seem fair that we have the hard copy with the 64bit file available but yet we have to give them our key code to download their 32bit version. Now thats bullshit!

When you start the game and click internet game it connects you right to Gamespy. I had read something where it stated that all you would need is some type of patch to change that. I do not know too much about that but maybe Cobryis with Sitting-Ducs help if needed could make a patch that will just connect you to our servers and host the game from Mavericks......I mentioned because he said he was pretty sure we could do something...NEVER give up.....

If you go to the downloader and use it. It has the offroad map there. When everyone has it we can play it ANY night. Sabreeyes once you have downloaded the patch for the downloader. Extract it to its own directory. In there you will find a readme file. It exlains where to copy-paste those files. Once that is done you will be able to login and use it.

WiZiD. Google Crysis Wars Trial download. That thing is the full game. Hell, you can torrent it probably too (but that's less safe). If you can't find the trial download, I have a copy. Ray does too i believe.

We should all play before this ship goes down. I won't have time to look into making it float again until the summer. Would be a neat project though. 

However, cracked servers might work fine actually. Idk what people are saying as I haven't had time to investigate.

I think what WiZiD is trying to do here to get Crysis(wars) on to Origin. At least that is what I get from it. The problem is that Crysis, Crysis Wars and Crysis 2, depends on the multiserver list that is going to end in 40+ days. Origin doesn't have the network WiZiD to carry the players and the servers. Even when you get the Maximum Edition in your library on Origin, it will fail as it depends on GameSpy/IGN network.

 

People are thinking to make a patch for Hamachi or other VPN services, but you won't be able to see any servers listed. Or only by LAN only.

 

The funny thing is, MWLL is running cracked for a long time now. Heck, do you remember something?  Look how they set this up:

Server A:

 

Host the server with sv_lanonly 1

 

Server B (can be the same as server 1, but must be Windows):

 

Optional: edit launch.bat and set password

Forward port 29900, 29901, 29920 to the server's local IP, if necessary

 

Start gs_login_server using launch.bat

 

Client C:

Edit C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file and append

 

127.0.0.1 gpcm.gamespy.com

127.0.0.1 gpsp.gamespy.com

127.0.0.1 gamestats.gamespy.com

 

Replace 127.0.0.1  with the public IP of Server B of course

Launch server and go into Internet Tab to log into Gamespy (with any username and password "pass")

 

Connect to Server A with connect command
