Well everyone I felt I had to post this because of a recent experience I just had. I just got out of the hospital after 4 straight days and I am getting better now. My temperature was 103.5 when I went in, normal now. Anyway before this situation happened I had some really bad experiences with Doctors that caused me to no longer trust them but you know you can't let a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch. Well somehow in the past two weeks I acquired serious infection and I almost did not go to the Hospital because of a few past bad experiences and it almost killed me. I waited the last minute to go and the infection also caused me to have a mild heart attack it was so bad I was in quarantine for 2 days. The infection also caused a lymph node to swell the size of a tennis ball. Biopsies were taken and cultures were drawn and I am still waiting for those test results. They really wanted me to stay a few more days until the test results came back but since I am a loner and have small pets to take care off I told them I needed to go home for my pets so they would not die, yes I care more about my pets than myself. They released me yesterday with oral medication. and now I am on a heart pill. Don't worry about me I am doing fine.

Anyway the bottom line is this........................... YES WE DO NEED DOCTORS AND WE SHOULD NOT LET A FEW BAD EXSPERIANCES MAKE LIFE DECISIONS FOR US. THERE ARE GOOD DOCTORS OUT THERE.

I just want to say thank you to all the good dedicated Doctors out there, THANKS ?

We will always need doctors, nurses, cops, firefighters and whatsoever. Me, being a psychiatric nurse with the license to prescribe medication to patients, as well as take the decision for them to be institutionalised or not (often by 'force'), I sometimes as well make the wrong decisions (thankfully not a lot), no matter how much hours of thought I've put into it. The 'fragile' thing about our work is, that whenever you make a misstake, the consequences are often way worse and more visible than in other jobs. It reamains 'people work' (sounds better in Dutch) and where there are people working, misstakes will be made. Being a professional, you should always strive to make no errors at all, improve your knowledge whenever you can and keep evaluating actions that you took.

Glad you're doing better!

Dude, how the hell do you have a temp. of 103 & a lymph node the size of a tennis ball & even have to entertain a passing doubt of whether an allopath is in your immediate future?  Like in any other business transaction, you must be your own advocate, & a strong one @ that.  There are, like in any other field, people who run the gamut from excellent, all the way down to absolute shit.  Don't let the shitbags discourage you from taking care of yourself.

I know right, the lymph node swelled in one day and that is what made me go to the hospital immediately. I have always been known to be stubborn and a hard head, just my nature.

Interestingly enough, I actually prefer to be seen by an Osteopath.  My family doctor is one, & they have a broader, more holistic approach to medicine not usually found with Allopaths.  I've also found them to be more considerate of their clients.  They, too are trained in Allopathy & take the board like any other doctor; they just have additional training that most physicians lack.

What sets this Clan, this "Family," apart is that we do care.  If you didn't want us to "worry about you," why'd you make the post?

It sounds like you want some "Prayers" out your way . . . AND . . .

River_Rat, just "prayed one" for you.

Merry Christmas . . . please try not to worry, too much.  Ayaq

Me too, I remember getting examined in Thailand, the pretty lady doctor looked me in the eyes and said 'it's perfectly normal to get an erection when you're being examined. Puzzled I replied ' but I haven't got one ?', ' no, but I have 'she answered.
