This week, we say good bye to another great musician, an awesome drummer.

For all Rush fans, this is a sad day. Passed on the 7th.

I just heard the news when I got home....I am stunned, dismayed and saddened beyond belief ....we just lost a drummer/percussionist virtuoso in rock/progressive rock. he was absolutely amazing and I was lucky enough to have seen him 4 times....his accomplishments are too many to list here but when you can play one time signature with your feet and another with your hands and blend them together....are you kidding me !!  R.I.P. Neil you will be missed for generations.......

When I was 18 I used to go see Rush in a local bar called Duffys every week end. I had an awesome opportunity of being invited to this bar the night the music industry came to hear them. The next day they were famous world wide. I got to go behind the stage when they played at the Buffalo Aud and I had a great time. The party with them afterward was even better. lol

Saw them many many times.  First being Sept. of 1976.  Hara Arena in Dayton.    And took all my kids to see them in Cincy during the Snakes and Arrows tour ( June of 2008 I believe).  RIP Professor

Hara Arena !!  Damn !! I saw so many great bands at Hara.... those were the days @MikeB ...although my first concert at Hara was Van Halen Fair Warning tour or the Black and blue tour .......Black Sabbath and B.O.C Blue Oyster Cult , if they played there or Riverfront coliseum. but I saw Rush there,Slayer,Metallica,Soundgarden,Iron Maiden,Stevie Ray Vaughn ...the list is large But ...I remember one time at Rush at Hara,I was half way up on the right all the up close by the stage side so you could see above and down on the stage...great spot and his drum solo ,totally enclosed in his Kits ,slinging a drumstick up into the stratosphere as he kept playing and without missing a beat ,catching it ,as he drops the other stick he picked up in the launch, as it comes back to earth and just kept going... !!

yeah he will be missed ....

I was at the Black and Blue show !!!!!  Well sort of there.  Too many brews and doobies !!  Or was it microdots that show ?  Or Micheludes (qualude dropped in a Michelob) ?  That was a great tour.  Some venues BOC opened and others Sabbath opened

Very sad news indeed. I saw Rush live 5 or 6 times, and had the good fortune to get backstage and hang out with them in 1990 or 1991 at Irvine Meadows Amphitheater. My best friend at the time..his girlfriend's uncle handled their lighting at their shows..so she got us backstage. Got the meet all of them as well as a few California Angels players. Peart only came out and said hi to everyone briefly, and then retreated back to his dressing room. Geddy and Alex hung out with everyone for like 90 minutes. It was quite an experience for my 23 year old self at the time which I shall never forget.  Here is a link to an Obituary if interested: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2020/jan/12/neil-peart-obituary
