Do I have an unhealthy relationship with coffee?

I just finished descaling our coffee machine and found the statistics section in the settings. It shows how many cups of coffee we’ve made since I bought this machine almost 6 years ago. ️️️

My relationship with coffee is quite healthy and mutually beneficial. It brews. I drink. Yin and Yang. One cannot exist without the other.

Sorry to hear that if it’s true....you don’t know what you are missing. Nearly 18,000 cups of coffee for 2 people in 6 years seems reasonable to me, but I’m obviously biased. Of course we’ve had people over who’ve also had some of these cups, and our daughters occasionally have some...I do know that if I had to live without coffee I’d be extremely sad. It’s one of life’s simple pleasures that I truly wouldn’t want to do without. I could be perfectly content in life as long as I had access to coffee, music and my Kindle.

That's why I love being a member of the Green Coffee Buying Club.  Can buy green beans from around the world as they come in-season; for not much more than the price of Folgers.  All it takes is an oven, or an air-popper popcorn popper, a thermometer & a modest conical bur grinder like a Capresso & you can roast, grind & brew some of the finest coffees in the world for cheap.  If you've never had a nice Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, wet process; you'd never believe it was just coffee upon first taste.  Sulawesi, Blue Mountain, Guatemalans of many sorts, Kona.  So many kinds of coffees.  It's like the difference between McD & a home-grilled burger, to say the least.  A store-bought fruit & one fresh from the tree, vine.  Could talk for hours about some good coffee.

OMG, I might have guessed it wouldn't be instant for you buddy, grown on a south facing hillside, watered with virgins milk and harvested by nymphs, f....g Nescafe has come a long way hasn't it ?

@WldPenguinback in 1987 I started working I the Electrical planning department of a ship yard. I decided to try coffee for the first time! I was 30 years old. I hated it and still hate it! You’re not missing anything lol.

I do understand most of the world loves coffee I’m just leaving my share for them.

6yrs equal 2190 days .

To have 17 K + cups like your machine shows  it

Its around eight cup a day , if youve share with somone its 4 a day ,and  if you single its 8 a day maybe that a lot LOL.

Also depends on the volumetric amount of a cup; many will calculate it at 6 fl. oz.  Most people drink 8 - 12 oz. in a cup.  Shit, I down at least 2  16 oz. coffees between 6 & N00n.  A large Charbucks is 20 oz....

Then again, it's the number of cups when awake, so subtract sleeping time, and of course there is time away from home for work. Or errands. Trips. So you are doing an average 8 cups during maybe 4 hours of actual waking time at home to drink it.
