I'm thinking of modeling off some pictures. I have a few but with all the TP shortage I'd be willing to make a trade.

  19. Do you believe that governments should do nothing to try to slow the spread? For most people, yes, it will probably be mild and nothing to worry about, but when ICUs are getting overrun and they are having to choose one person over another to have access to ventilation, I imagine that is an awful scenario for medical personnel to go through. The US isn't there yet, but this is what looks like is happening Italy, and what governments are trying to prevent elsewhere.

  21. Much agreed even though I and others joke and piss about I'm fairly certain anyone with 2 brain cells can see it's a problem we don't need reminding it's on the news the radio and the Internet practically 24/7 what you don't mention is how companies have gone bust due to the international isolation I myself am twined with a company that mainly makes money from the export of vehicles and items to countries like Poland Lithuania Africa and the such with the EU borders closing as well as other I won't mention brexit as I don't want the arguments on good or bad we are struggling on a day to day basis you don't need to tell us the repercussions of this most of us already live with it day to day also here in the uk the nhs is funded through national insurance and tax payers money which if more companies go bust puts a larger strain on everything as instead of money going in more people go on universal credits or disability which is also tax payer funded if commerce stops in the uk the system runs out of money it's all full circle round here the evidence everyone's brought forth is much appreciated how ever we are all idiots but we aren't all dumb On a side note both my mother and my missus's mother are immunocomprimised and I swear to god if I got infected or even a slight hint of a cold or cough I wouldn't go near them of my fiancee till I was clear + a week

  23. Sir, At first I was going to ignore this, however your arrogance deserves an answer, your disdain for us fellow idiots shines through loud and clear. Not only are you a medical expert, economics expert and statistical genius, but you are an idiot, and us idiots come here for fun. We do not wish to be spoken to as fools, we treat everything as a joke, it is obvious that your world contains little light or fun, it is a world of gloom and doom, death and destruction. However, thankfully, we too have opinions, they may not be yours, but we have them. FU

  27. I realize many of you are too fucking lazy to actually read anything that may educate you...but here’s another attempt. Read the link in this tweet. For you lazy motherfuckers, you can look at the pretty picture above. The straight red line across the bottom of the graph represents our peak ICU bed capacity per 100k people If we surge it to it’s highest potential. We are behind the curve in implementing these mitigation strategies, and they won’t work as well because too many people out there are assholes that don’t GAF. If you are saying to yourself “yeah but it’s only got a mortality rate of like 2%”, that number is 20x the regular flu and also presupposes everyone who needs an ICU bed gets one. If they get full, mortality rate spikes to 10% or higher and we have an outcome similar to or worse than the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918. This has become a numbers game of exponential growth. It also means that if the hospital is full of Wuhan Virus patients, there’s no room for any of the usual heart attacks, appendicitis, etc. So then more people start to die from other ailments that they normally wouldn’t die from. See how that works? Additionally, as healthcare workers become infected, and thus must go into isolation, we further decrease our maximum sustainable patient load due to staff shortages...possibly resulting in a death spiral of the healthcare system. It is quite likely we missed our window of opportunity to maximally bend the curve immediately. The Chinese Communist Party is now kicking American journalists out of their country...probably to make it easier to cover up the resurgence of cases they are likely to have now that they are making their people go back to work in their factories. I am expecting even more draconian measures than we have already to be implemented in the near future here in America. Buckle up. Here is a little story about the Spanish Flu you may want to also read. https://www.history.com/news/spanish-flu-second-wave-resurgence Also, if you think that what’s happening now is causing economic hardship which is outweighed by the deaths that would occur if we did nothing.....you have no fucking clue about economics.

  33. Hey Sammy, I think you maybe over estimating that this is a yearly event, though I admit it’s has happened more often of late. But let me pose to you. We live in a much more urban society specially in the past 20 years. What took distance to spread in the 1918 Spanish Flu outbreak is now literally feet. The rate of spread is a lot easier these days. Also, outbreaks such as these were primarily geographical. Travel was limited then while in today jet age, travel across nations is merely hours away. My thoughts are as always to error on precaution and safety.

  34. I suppose its just premature to take overly drastic measures on this scale. Certainly nationally. Are we going to do this every time some new flu makes the rounds? Maybe every year January to March should be considered shutdown season?

  41. The various financial bodies of the world are trying to somehow stem the tide of economic collapse. However every time they do something the reaction is that they must know something the rest of us dont and that we are closer to the end. Like there is some sort of Illuminati conspiracy. I hate to say it, but perhaps we would have been better off if they did exactly nothing at all and said 'Remain calm, all is well." Of course there are the eventual conspiracy theories. The latest is that this was all intentional by certain people in the US sending the virus to China. Since a lot of us are dumb as bricks a percentage will buy it. Long term might be interesting to see attitudes about people that get sick. If you are, should you be forced to stay home from work for a short while at least until the worst has past? Since we need to pay the bills we load up on flu medicine so we dont feel like shit and go. However if we as a people want to change it to where staying home is a requirement, by the employer or the state, then we must deal with their financial issues. Once upon a time it was called paid sick leave. These days, you are lucky to get it at all. Of course the rebuttal to that is always that its too expensive and people will be laid off. Well, choose one. If you think its too expensive, then accept that either you may get sick from those that came to work or if you are the one that is sick you might infect others. On the other hand, if you chose to require sick people to stay home then you must help them until they are no longer infected themselves.

  43. We need a stupid douchebag virus to thin out the herd; all these selfish, panicky, inconsiderate fucks buying months worth of shit on lizard-brained, fear-based impulse that won't even do shit to help survive the flu part 2... just inconvenience their fellow urban denizens. Should be a temporary law that allows one to kick someone's arse if you catch them rollin' around with a shopping cart full of shit paper or other unnecessary purchasable item.
