  2. I did change my sound settings and that wasn't it. I turned off the Windows Defender that suddenly was enabled from the last Windows update. Not it. So I went into the Activision folder, found the IW3MP exe and that's the one that's crashing. However, in there was a shortcut ICON to a "Play COD4 1.7 MW" file, and that launched and worked. I played with that version tonight after updating a few controls that weren't the same and aside from a few minor differences in sound files it plays very much like the crashing version. Should I run the updater again to get me back to the version I was on working again? I don't recall what version that was either?

  6. @BROMODROSYS Bromo many times when I've had a Windows update I've had similar crashes. Just about every time its a sound issue. For some reason windows changes my sound settings and I have to change my default sound equipment back. I use Steele Series Arctis 7 gaming headset and the GG software. My latest Windows 10 updates were November 13 and 20th.
  7. OK, nothing has changed since I shut it down before leaving on Vacay. WIN 10 OS. The crash dump file I believe mentioned an IW3 file error. The game begins to load, splash screen pops up, then changes to the profile selection screen for an instant and then it closes down and the crash dump file send to Microsoft popup fires up. Can that be exported? Can I fix an IW3 file?
  8. Happy Birthday you two!
