Had a funnel cloud chase me outta our camping spot this past Saturday at Lake Texoma, alot of rain and a bit of hail.  I thought I had shingles on the roof, but when we got home they were all swimming on the back lawn.  Had to find my hammer and do some work for a change.  Good thing we had plenty of beer and smoke to see us through the ordeal!

I watched a report on the CBS News over here and heard some survivors' stories - really scary stuff.  Trust you all are safe and any damage to your homes has been minor.  Tornadoes are, thankfully, rare over here and not as destructive.

U can go to this site....TellFox.com I think it is and see the pictures from this.  I have family that lives in those areas but we have heard from most....except a few we hope are just without power.  I have minor damage....lost a building, trees and a wishing well.  But others lost everything.   They were saying on the news that found a bill from a lawyers officers that is located in Tuscaloosa 70 miles away.  Thats how far it carried.   Its amazing.   This is the worst I have ever seen in my life....places are just flat.  Well heres something to make everyone smile or get a good laugh out of this:  I was on my way home coming from my moms, they have a storm shelter, and I was walking out to my car and well there was a piece of wood that had come from who knows where and well i planted my foot right on it.....nail went almost all the way thru my foot.  Had to go to hospital and well got all fixed back up, that was painful.  But who else can say...I survived the storm but a freakin nail got me in the end.  LoL!!

Good luck to all of you dealing with those storms. Like crackxi says, the one consolation for putting up with all the freakin cold here in Michigan is we rarely get the nasty ones like in the south. Had a bad one a couple years ago in my home town of Fenton, but only a lot of damage to homes and trees - might have been one heart attack from moving tree wood after the storm. Thankfully, we miss all that crap....most big tornadoes, hurricanes, floods & earthquakes. Hope you all are OK!!

We were driving into Gatlinburg TN last night and had to stop twice playing dodge the potential twisters. We then stopped short of our destination last night and stayed about an hour out to avoid some areas on the way. Finally made it in this morning.

We lost power for a while, but it's all good now. I haven't seen any tree damage like we had  the last bad set of storms. I think the storms are getting worse here in North Carolina, than they have in the past years. I hope everyone is okay !
