I used to rate Viewsonic but that died after three years.

I bought a Samsung SyncMaster (hi-def) but have had problems with that since purchase.

I think the next one will be a combination HDTV/ monitor.  I fancy one like this (woman optional).

what do you need ?

If you watch blue ray or play, full hd is cool .

Don't take a plasma if you play with that.

I have a samsung  60 cm full HD 100 hz LCD and working fine .

I like Samsung and LG. Get a fast refresh rate and as big a screen you can afford.

I still believe iiyama do the pc monitors.  They have done for years, and are still extremely good.  Also very well priced.  Check the specs and prices against other mmanufacturers, you will be pleasantly surprised.

What do you have for Graphics card?

It is the first question. Depending on what you have, running a new monitor with higher res might cause your FPS to drop....

check on that first.....if you got an old card and you're not willing to upgrade soon, better games come out, and you grab a higher resolution LCD...you might get bit in the A$$

but yes, a 24" to 27" 2ms refresh rate is a good start, 1080P (full HD)...

120Hz is better for gaming, but there is not a whole lot of people that have them and comment on them. Apparently, once you tried, you don't want to look back...

I always liked SAMSUNG monitors, never had an issue with those...

I have three 27.5 " monitors

2 Iiyamas  left and right monitors and a syncmaster P2770 in the middle of them

if you dont want to mount the monitor at the wall the syncmaster is the best buy for sure

very good response time and quite less ingamelag

you will like it I think :)

i wont buy any TN panel monitor ever again

i recently changed for IPS panel monitor and wont go back anytime soon.

its another budget but honestly, its a total different world.

now i would try a TN panel 120Hz  but yea, color accuracy of TN panels sucks so bad, i cant stand it anymore.

and most of the time its cheap plastic. the stands are just usually crap (and that can really be a problem)

dont get too fooled by specs also, they most of the time dont give u anything real.
