Ultimate is recommened from Windows, of course. Have you tried going into your config. file and changing a few things? You can put your name in there with your colour codes on, set your frame rate, just make sure you put all the marks in as found otherwise it will screw-up. To get into it, hit start, hit computer, hit C drive, hit programs, hit activision, hit main, hit players and you should find your config file. By putting in your name you should be able to save your settings. Press save after changes. If you have a wreck you can re-load your game.
 To find it or to install it? I'd say: Turn of UAC off at first, reboot and right click on the installer "run as administrator".
 Awards

I did in my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. What to remember the settings, enter all the data (name, keys) at the end of the set and save the graphic resolution. Then will remember the nickname and all your settings. With me so it worked. I explain to the forum using the translator, so for any errors in english sorry. My English is small so please do not laugh out loud. Have a nice day

Sorry, I know we are supposed to have XFire on, but having to input all my settings over and over just sucks the joy out of playing Did you start the game throgh Xfire Nick ? It's pretty well talked about already in the forums here but Xfire requires Administrator Permission to run, therefore any programs that are started/spawned by Xfire will inherit the administrator permissions and run as admin too, under Win7 this causes the game software to use a different file location for storing profiles and maps etc so it appears that it's lost all your settings, when actually it's looking in the wrong place, You should be able to run Xfire at the same time as COD under Win7 by starting the game from it's own shortcut instead of launching via Xfire and the two will quite hapilly run side by side without losing your profiles, it's Xfires "Join This Game" shortcut that causes the issues,
