I had something happen earlier on the Arkona map. I entered the server as the 33rd person and got the server is full message, I then hit the ` key and reconnect. When it let me in the map, my team showed 3 players unfrozen. I then ran over to a frozen Crack and could not thaw him, I thought one of my boys had changed my use key so I ran and went prone beside him and still could not thaw him, I told Crack that I couldn't defrost that something was wrong. I then encountered an enemy and froze him, after doing so I got the sound get it done you are the last hope, but the team count showed 0, then all hell broke loose. I was getting shot to shit by everyone on the other team and I was shooting back, I showed to be taking the hits and my screen went red on every hit but I wouldn't die. I even stood and they knifed the shit out of me and still no death. I had to leave the server and rejoin and when I came back it was normal.

Those mtl maps usually have a lot of scripts in them.

ive been thinking it about it, but hasn't that specific map always given us problems with the freeze tag mods? I seen to recall it causing so many errors and getting yanked from the rotation several times. can someone confirm this?

Yes if anyone remembers what the errors actually were let me know so I can test the map and see what it is. Cant do anything to the map but it might have a circumstance that doesnt really happen in most maps or does something most maps dont.

So has what heppened to me happened before? I was in game but not showing up as a player, my body was there and I could kill the enemy but not defrost or be killed.

 

I try to be like Drama but crap that was taking it a bit too far.

Another thing about this mod is the car and jammer. Even thought the hardwire thing can let the car blow you up, i found it useless. Its was yesterday and i was about to melee a guy in the back and he turn into a car and about to blow me up. I had hardwire and so he cannot blow me up, i try to emp the freaking car but it ran away, than i shoot it and it run in circles and i can hardly aim at it and finally when the timer ends the car blow me up :((. I got a 11 killstreak and trying to get a nuke : . What i think its there can be a perk for exploding car protection or car jammer or disable the car cannot blowing up, just for deforesting.

What map was that with the uav?

 

As for the car, that must have looked funny. A really good 'oh shit!' moment. But then again the driver of the car was taking a big chance that you werent going to be able to shoot it. He got lucky. The damage required to kill it is 100 points. Or 3-5 rounds depending on the power of the weapon and whether or not you have stopping power.

its now part of the game and you need to either use the perk that immunes you to it or get used to it

No it's not like the Tubes Rockets, claymores or bunny hopping, Tubes, Rockets, Claymores and Bunny Hopping were all in COD4 as standard, stuff like Gas was just added with these mods, we are invited to test and make comments about these mods, weapons, perks and killstreaks so to say people are whining about something extra that has been added is out of order, do we just accept everything extra that is going on in freezetag or do we express an opinion as we have been asked, this gas makes some smaller maps totally unplayable, there is so much of it around the maps just become gridlocked, why should everyone have to use the perk to stop the gas, actually that's a good idea, you must also want to get rid of the gas because if everyone used the mask then the gas would be totally useless, but that's not gonna happen it's just another way for bad players to get cheap kills, it's easy to throw a lot of purple stuff about and close the map down then you can just sit and camp and take out stunned players easily. Well I do concur that on small maps the gas plays a major role in the game play. But I happen to like that. In fact, perhaps because it annoys two of my favorite people (pink and SOB), I actually switch to the gas and a tactical mask on small maps from my usual kit of smoke and deadly silence. As I said before, it makes me think of a different tactic. I like that. It's really just a bonus that it bugs other people. ;)

 

For me, it also happens to work out that on smaller maps deadly silence isn't nearly as useful. The gas will never be as annoying as Drama Llama, so as long as he is around I can live with the gas.

 

What I find interesting is how many people don't like the gas, yet obviously a lot of people are using it.

I think it's a case of if you can't beat them join them Bog, it was the same with the cars for me, i use them because i was sick of being hunted down by them.

The enemy throws the gas then they are automatically in a defensive setting unless they all themselves have masks. Otherwise they choke. So the question is can you turn that to your advantage. Sounds to me that some have.

 

When balancing a game the idea is NOT to take anything away from people but to provide counter measures. Gas certainly has a significantly bigger impact on a small map than a big one. Just as wide open maps reward good snipers. Then again the same goes for flashbangs. So do you decide to sit out the map and come back later? Or do you adapt?

 

As for the gas not being in cod4, actually it is and all the assets required for it are in the tools. But during production IW decided to take it out for whatever reason. Of course from cod5 onward it has become part of the game.

i only use the gas to trow it right on Cobrabites position....he loves it when people do that! :D :D

it only happens when you call the rc in before you unlock your nades and stuff....happend to me also in the past. i now wait until i get them.

Yes. They need to be delayed till the explosives appear and there is a server setting for it. Will send a PM. Alot of servers do that anyways so immediate airstrikes arent called on spawn points and things like that.

Has anyone else had the issue that I had on the Arkona map? I came into the server and didn't show on the players list at the top. It allowed me to kill the enemy but not defrost team mates or be killed. Was i just a glitch in the server?
