Hello All,

Jr. was on my computer playing Minecraft. He said he was playing single player. I don't play this game so not sure how the whole thing works. He said he was laying out explosives. He said he was putting them out for hours. When he blew them off the game lagged really bad. He hit the "X" to drop game. When he did this the computer shut down and restarted. In restart the black screen that you would get from hitting f8 came up (safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc.). Everytime I try to reboot it comes back to this screen. I can't do anything from that page and that page just keeps coming up. I ran a Spy Hunter program the night before so I don't think it's a virus or anything like that.

I will be on my laptop tonight around 9'ish. If anyone is on ts to help or give advice I would so appreciate it.

Thanks for anything you guys/gals can do. I know Jr. is feeling pretty bad about it too. I told him we have great peeps here to help out.

Thank you!

Try booting into safe mode and do a system restore back before the minecraft crash.  If you cannot boot into safe mode, try completely powering down the computer and unplug it for a min. or two.  Then try the same mode reboot and system restore.  If still no luck, you may have to run a operating system repair from the installation dick.

My kids are not allowed to touch my computer due to this very thing.  My daughter crashed my computer twice to the point of a complete reinstall.

When I boot in safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with prompt, etc. it comes back to same screen. Right before the system boots it disconnects and reboots to safe mode black screen with choices....

The boot menu will appear as long as you didn't boot your system in "normal" mode.

Check your cooling parts (CPU and GPU if it's not passive) and you power supply.

It smells like an emergency shutdown.

Try the system repair like snafu mentioned - if nothing works.

I agree. The last time my system was crashing in the middle of a game my cooling fans were choked with dust, and during the game the processor was getting so hot it was doing hard shut downs. Blow out the cooling fans with canned air and then do a regular shut-down from safe mode. It should re-start normally, and if it doesn't do as was suggested and do a system restore from a few days ago.

TecHnOBoY is on to something

this a computer a tower or laptop ?

if tower check cpu fan working and its heatsink are clear of dust same with laptop

note: when using canned air on fans......unplug its power cord or hold fan from spinning

due to the spinning will generate power more then MB can handle and cook something

Hey be REAL DAMN careful though about blowing dust around your computer, I did that once and it went into my power supply and fried it, & I mean dead to the world! I now use a vacum cleaner with tiny ends on it to suck the dust out.

A vac is more dangerous then canned air. Think about the jumpers on the mainboard! Your board wil f**k you if you "suck" them! ;)

well for one I don't stick it to my mobo, I use a small brush to clean the surface of it, but fans you betcha and I've been doing that for a very long time now, I did air once AND POOF there went my pwr supply when I turned it back on....

I couldn't imagine losing my processor because I blew dust deeper inside it with air....

I dind't say that it won't work. From my point of view it is more dangerous than canned air.  But now lets wait for an answer from @@YellowSnow :)

Sorry Guys I'm a Computer idiot. I would need to get on ts with someone to talk through this.

When I boot it starts booting fine. Right before windows would come up it kicks it to the screen that would be the black screen with safe mode, etc. When I try to boot in saafe mode it does the same. Starts off ok but right before windows would come up kicks it back to black safe mode screen..

I will be on late tonight 9pm or so..Central Time...

Thanks!!

To avoid reboots, see picture. If u are in a reboot loop sequence see picture and un-mark automatically restart at errors.

It creates a error dump file but Ive always had this unmarked regardless of errors and never completely crashed the PC (since 2006).

To the problem, my guess its OS or HDD related.

If u had cpu issues windows would have problem start at all and u would hear (or not hear) certain parts in the PC isnt spinning or working, if gpu, there would be a either black screen or windows basic screen would be showing the desktop i.e very big icons and like 800x600 resolution.

@@iEvil you are right. I forgot this part. You may also get a blue screen if you deactivate the reboot. But yellow is not able not deactivate this as he has noch chance to logon.

@@YellowSnow. If you get the chance, deactivate the reboot and post the STOP code of the blue screen here. (If you get one)

@@dawgy

In most cases you'll get a beep code when the RAM or the slot is defective. Not always but in most cases. A faulty RAM with some errors won't prevent the Windows startup in this way. But it's easy to test:

- turn off the computer

- turn off your powersupply (or unplug it if it has no switch)

- press the power button on your computer for 5-10 seconds (there is a residual current)

- remove all RAM sticks except if one and start your PC. Repeat this step with every stick.

In the case that everything's fine out the second stick in and try to boot your PC again. And so on and so on.
