I am seeing so many posts in the last few weeks that are being replicated, i done it myself last week too, i think it is because something is running a bit slower then it used to ie if when you used click to post it would post almost immediately, now it seems to be taking longer to do that, i find if you just wait a bit longer instead of clicking post again it will eventually work, when you are clicking post for a 2nd time your first post is already going through, just look to the top left of the page you will see the little refresh symbol still spinning, just wait until it stops spinning and when it does your first post should go through maybe duc can throw some light on why this seems to be taking longer because i am seeing lots of double posting nowadays. :sorry:

This is what usually happens to me when I get double posts... (and it happened last night)

1)  Write post

2)  Click "Post" but nothing happens

3)  Wait 20 seconds

4)  Click "Post" again and it goes through instantly

5)  I see only my one post on the feed

6)  Five minutes later I see my second post show up

Note: when I click it the first time and nothing happens... literally nothing happens... I don't get any "spinning" or "loading" icons... the browser simply acts like I never clicked at all.

Well i get a spinning refresh disc at the top left of the page, gotta wait until it stops spinning, if you click again it will post twice, but yes something is not working right that's for sure. See you said you clicked twice which means you are posting twice, the second one always goes through instantly.

I've found some weird stuff using IE to do anything on the site. For instance, you cannot upload images using IE because it does display the "find image" instruction; using Chrome, I have no prob. Don't know if there's a correlation with double posting but some testing with Chrome vs. IE might be revealing.

That, I suspect, Harry, has more to do with Microsoft's non-adherence to web standards than the site's coding or performance...

Firefox has to be the browser of choice...

duc posted something a couple of weeks ago Harry about this website and certain versions of IE  not being compatible, cannot remember the full gist of it but some stuff won't work, Google Chrome or Firefox was recommended.

You could also try this m8, if as you say you are waiting for around 20 seconds after you have first clicked "post" after that that 20 seconds don't click post again but instead click out of the post (arrow pointing left top of the page next to refresh button) it will bring you back to the home page, when you get back to homepage then click refresh and see if your post as gone through, i have done this a few times and even though it looked like the post wasn't working it had gone through after all.

It could be a good idea to copy all the text one has just typed onto the clipboard (CTRL-C) before leaving the editor.

If you've just treated us all to a few paragraphs on the latest hot topic, it'd be a shame to lose it all if it hasn't posted

correctly.

i thought it happens when two people are posting at the same time because it seems when i duplicate post there is a new post infront of mine immediatly and perhaps the page get confused and pauses and then we push post again and walla -got me-youd think it would be set up that it could only post once in that window?

I found kind of a work around. After typing something in I always highlight everything I typed in, right click on it and hit copy. After hitting the post button once...if nothing happens, just go to the top and hit the Home button.

Check to see if your post came up. If it did not you can always try it again where you have everything copied to your clipboard. You can just go back to reply and right click in that box again and hit paste..

That has worked for me several times without double posting. And I have not had to re-post by pasting. Just going to the home key has worked.. Hope this helps....I am sure SittingDuc is working on it...Just be patient...

In fact I do not even know if it is the website. Last night we were getting double post in chat while we were playing Crysis... that was weird.
