If you have a refresh of 75 and your FPS ever goes below that, it will cut your FPS in half to 37.5. Same with 100,120,144 etc. When VSync is enabled, your graphics card becomes a slave to your monitor. If at any time your FPS falls just below your refresh rate, each frame starts taking your graphics card longer to draw than the time it takes for your monitor to refresh itself. So every 2nd refresh, your graphics card just misses completing a new whole frame in time. This means that both its primary and secondary frame buffers are filled, it has nowhere to put any new information, so it has to sit idle and wait for the next refresh to come around before it can unload its recently completed frame, and start work on a new one in the newly cleared secondary buffer. This results in exactly half the framerate of the refresh rate whenever your FPS falls below the refresh rate. If you have a 60Hz monitor and are getting less than 60FPS. Well may the Gods of Money help you. Fir3Marshal and The Flush 2

I run at 1080p on a 24" 144Hz monitor with a 1ms response, I love ASUS. I also have a second monitor that I have the battle screen up to use as my "mini" map. All of this running off an i7 930 OC'd to 3.9Ghz with 12GB of DDR3 1600 (@1494) and I have the game run off a 250 GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD. I will continue to tweak it and modify settings and see where I want settings to be long term, overall very happy with my recent upgrades. OddJob001 1

I actually have fps capped at 150 since I wouldn't notice anything above that anyways. If I take off the cap, I'll run up to 200 on most maps. It sounds like the 2nd monitor...I assume your cpu is good enough to run that, I'm running an 8350 which is pushing everything very well.
