its not the map  we have plpayed that map plenty of times before with no issues  it has to be something in the mod settings thats causing it to kick

actually its the mod....we on different mod now maps that stopped workn on last map works now on the new one...and now we finding other maps that wont work with this mod...we are really losing good maps to these errors wish we had mod that was more map friendlier...

Sometimes downloading the mod again, as well as the map, can take care of it if something got corrupted and the 'mismatch' thing is the error given. But yes hopefully the update is helping a bit with other reasons due to having too many characters in iwd filenames. On round changes some iwds are double-loaded again, engine thing, and will only show up then. There are other reasons but usually they would kick on every map not just a few.

Sometimes making sure the maps in the usermap folder on the redirect and game server are identical

That is also a big issue because sometimes different versions of maps actually have the same names. Or one server may have customized something by replacing an image (such as clan logos by the map maker) or taking out a sound. But when on a different server with the same but unaltered map it can cause problems. One reason why some mappers include special checks on map load to make sure they havent been altered. If so they dont load.

Done    It showed the same file sizes, but I deleted it off of the MW2 server and loaded it back from the redirect so it has to be the same now.

Downloading both and I'll run md5 on them anyways to make sure.  Will post the results when I have them. In cases like this is is always best to upload both in case the redirect one is corrupt. Be sure to delete your local copy in your usemaps folder so you download it again.

 

I ran the map at home on the mod, which is a mirror of the mod online, on a dedi server at home and it seems to rotate rounds ok. It is easy for stuff to get corrupt and one little difference can cause a problem.

the md5 hashes for the iwd match between the server and redirect but not with the one I have at home. Mine at home is also a slightly larger by a few bytes. So there is a mismatch somewhere. Could be many things. An image or sound got swapped out from the original. An incomplete upload. Or one is a new compile to fix a bad image glitch but kept the same name. More often its the last one. Best to make sure you have the latest version from the original source, not a download from another server, delete them from the server/redirect and upload again. Also tell everybody to delete it from their own usemap folder just in case. Some servers remove clan logos from maps or put their own for example, which is a rude thing to do, and it populates from there.

 

Unfortunately if another server has the bad one you will get a mismatch there.

Sounds like a pain in the ass to me. Just delete the map and also the server does not have all of the maps to try out on it so this is a big fuck up as far as I am concerned. If you guys would like all of the maps loaded to the server I will do this. Just yell. The server only has the maps that ran on the old MW2 server. We haven't, or the cod4 admins haven't tried the other maps out on the new server yet.
