I loved the security guy standing there...

The "security guy" was a Metropolitan Police officer...

The wellbeing of our royals isn't entrusted to security guards (yet!).

We have a General Election on 7 May.  Depending on who forms the next government, we may actually have proper passport controls again

but that's as serious as it could get.  Once we're out of the European Union, the word is that we'd trade, like Canada, with most favoured

nation status so our French cheese shouldn't cost any more.

haha no they are in England King. I f they were making that announcement in front of my building they would get a phone call from the strata manager regarding co-owners complaints about noise levels...and a visit from an RCMP officer investigating "disturbing the peace" allegations a couple days later.  Canada is a great country, but we've got our share of spoiled assholes as well :-)

aint that the truth lol. My neighbours last year (unemployed bums) parties every night blaring music and screaming and yelling in the back yard all drunk and idiotic. I called the cops 3 times in one night and each time they came back and fined them in total $750 for noise violations lol. They didn't party much after that. I think this summer should be quiet. If not a fix is only a phone call away. Koodos to the rcmp:)

"Making a noise" is not a police matter in this enlightened land.  It is an environmental health matter.  One is perfectly entitled to raise ones voice in a public highway if one chooses.  When the royal family is involved, it gets loud.  Yesterday, there were gun salutes to welcome Princess Charlotte!

when it involves an innocent child raise all the noise you want for the precious little ones in a joyful event. Here in my city in noise is a bi-law enforced by police and the bi-law insists on piece and quiet between the hours of 10pm to 7am daily. And that's how it should be. :)

I'm pretty sure it's like this in most of Canada and likely the USA as well but not sure about that
