Half And Half is now Quarter And Quarter.

The ‘Whopper’ is now the ‘Whimper’

At McDonalds, hold the onions now costs $1 extra.

A 6-pack is now a 5-pack.

In a cost cutting move, beginning with the 2024 model year, car windshields are an optional item available at an extra cost.

Flags normally put at half mast are now put at 1/3 mast.

And finally, the cost for your thoughts has risen to 10 cents.

Soda costs 2X as much as gas.

12-pack of soda (fucking sugar water): $6.00

Gallon of gas: $2.75

Finding the oil

Manufacturing the enormous drilling platform & drilling machinery

Transporting it all to the drilling site

Assembling the apparatuses

Operation costs to extract

Transporting oil to refinery

Refining costs

Transportation of gas to wholesale, retail

Retail markup

And sugar water costs twice as much.

2.75? And that’s expensive?

Yes it’s sugar water. Sugar doesn’t appear out of thin air like magic. Gotta have the land. Maintain the land for growing. Gotta grow it, with said water, during drought conditions in many areas, and food over several months at least. Pest and disease control. Harvest. Separate. Purify. Transport. And so on. Just for the sugar. Purified water isn’t cheap either. Mix it all together. Put it in expensive aluminum cans. Imagine if each 8-12 oz of gas had to come in a can. Transport, again.

All adds up fast. That said, if soda water cost half as much I still wouldn’t buy it. 😛

Still doesn't compare to the cost of procuring gasoline.

But you knew that already.

But since you wanna 'explain', feel free to elucidate the cost analysis that results in sugar costing twice what gas does.

You won't,  because it doesn't.

Economy of scale as well. How many gallons of gasoline do we consume as opposed to sugar water. Then multiply by the 100 of millions that consume gasoline every day. I wonder if there is an OPEC cartel for sugar water 😋

This is true. Oil or more specifically petroleum products are everywhere. One of those inconvenient truths certain groups dont talk about. And probably most of them have high prices far in excess of how much petroleum is actually needed to make them. So in the end, while you might have comparatively 'cheap' gas, you still pay through the nose for the oil you use every single day.

Its like grocery stores. They lure you in with inexpensive items but get you with higher markups and profit on other things.

The rarest (and therefore most expensive liquid) has to be a drop of sweat off @LaRSin's brow as the fckr runs round annihilating his opponents, probably only 2 a year.

Right... You're better off buying a new printer.
