In the fall of 2006 I stumbled onto this small gamming community bases on COD2. The group was fun but weird. Back then I felt there was more drama then gaming. Rugger had to stop Kilroy & Mal from posting Nazi symbols and Gorilla from choking Hxtr on a weekly basis. Hxtr has always been a mess, Jeff, I have seen you go from user to member to admin and tumble all the way to being banned and then return again (twice). I think you were the only member to do that. You and 7Toes were also a craziest two around, I will miss your random messages. Crunch, you’re on your way to take Hxtr’s mantle! In 2007 I was asked to be a member, and I have to thank Ripple & Phantom for that, or maybe I shouldn’t. In 2010 I was asked if I wanted to be an admin, I will always be grateful to BlackBart & Loader, I could not have asked for better mentors. I always felt a part of the soul of the COD2 group died with Bart’s passing. The Xtreme Idiots gaming crew in heaven is certainly lined with an amazing group with the likes of Bart, Ted, Killa, Mac & Beers to man a few. Being an admin meant learning to be part diplomatic & part babysitter. Phuckitman always said to stop reasoning with those nuts. Gaming with the likes of Lazlo, Mike, Windows, Joe, Little-Old-Man and Spanky always made any lousy day at work seem to be forgotten. I am grateful to have gamed with you guys and to the many more I have not mentioned. To my XI family, I thank you and specially Rugger and the senior admins. It has almost been 20 years since you started this and Rugger you are heart and soul of this community for that’s what it is…. An odd maladjusted family. I At this point I officially return my admin tags and member tags. To those who have just found this messed up clan. Wear XI with pride, it’s the only online straight jacket you will ever wear. Don't leave man, just even stick around as a clan member sure. Jeez I'm a member since I was just 18 and hitting 30 now and there was a handful of members I have convinced to stay that were thinking of leaving and are still here today. I don't play as much anymore but its still a great community to come back to. Stick around as a clan member and just give up the admin tags (admin can be a pain I know quite well the feeling)

So, yesterday was a magical amazing day!! One of my favorite bands, The Lazys, did a kickstarter back in December. Many things you could buy to help 2 of the members get to Canada from Australia and help with cost of recording an album. One of the things you could buy was a BBQ and private acoustic show with the band! My good buddy and I went splits on the BBQ. Yesterday was the day, the band showed up, a bunch of friends showed up, we were out on my buddys farm and we had a fucking blast!! There were 5 BBQ/Concerts given, the band all said ours was by far the best and the most fun!!! We had dirtbikes and quads out there, pigs and peacocks, cooler corn and a BBQ and a kick ass little acoustic show with the lead singer and the lead guitarist. So I walked into Gas Station to get me a coffee and a honey bun. As I walked up, I noticed 2 Police officers watching a woman who was smoking while pumping her gas. I saw her and thought, is this lady stupid, crazy, or both, especially with our Finest standing RIGHT there?!. But anyways, I minded my business, went inside and got my honey bun. As I was paying for it, I heard someone screaming!! Like I’m talkin' violent death screams! I looked outside and I saw that this woman's arm was on fire y'all!! She was swinging her arm, running around and going nuts!! When I got outside, the police had the woman on the ground and they were putting the fire out!! Then they put handcuffs on her and put her in the squad car. I was thinking, arrested? Shouldn’t she be in an ambulance, not a squad car?! Me, usually minding my own business, asked the Cop what he was arresting her for? He looked at me, dead serious, and said, "WAVING A FIRE ARM”!!

On Saturday, the Call of Duty team announced that the PC version of Call of Duty: WWII has been taken offline following “reports of an issue.” That issue seems to be a serious security problem, after reports surfaced about a remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability in the game. After Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision in 2023, Activision’s headline title, Call of Duty, has been slowly making its way over to Xbox and PC Game Pass. But only days after the 2017 Call of Duty: WWII arrived on Microsoft’s subscription service, the concerning reports started coming in. Players were using an RCE exploit to take over other players’ PCs during live multiplayer matches. RCE is the name for a critical security flaw that allows attackers to run malicious code on a victim’s machine without their consent or physical access. Exploiting an RCE could lead to data breaches, taking control of systems, and installing malware. In this case, it seems as though attackers were using the RCE vulnerability to gain remote access to other players’ computers during games. They reportedly: Opened command prompts on victims’ PCs Sent mocking messages via Notepad Forced remote shutdowns of players’ computers Changed desktop wallpapers to display gay porn Game Pass is a subscription service offered by Microsoft Gaming. Because consoles generally don’t allow this level of code execution, it’s only Windows PC gamers that were affected by this. The hacking of older titles is an open-air secret among the Call of Duty community, with players often avoiding the games on Steam. The problem likely lies in the fact that the multi-player game relies on peer-to-peer (P2P) networking which means that one player’s machine acts as the match’s server. There is a lot of speculation about Activision working to update the game’s anti-cheat systems called “Ricochet” as the title is seemingly rampant with abusers. But whether and how this update will fix the RCE vulnerability is a big unknown. We’ll keep you updated. What gamers should do This vulnerability is particularly alarming because it not only allows hackers to disrupt gameplay, it has the potential to compromise gamers’ entire PCs remotely. This story shows how even established titles can put your machine at risk. While it’s unclear if the Steam version is impacted, these are the things to do: Avoid playing Call of Duty: WWII on PC, especially the Microsoft Store and Game Pass versions, until Activision releases a patch. Always install security updates as soon as you can. Use active anti-malware software for protection. Monitor official Activision channels for updates on the fix.

Any clue about that? The temp server is a great backup/interim solution, but not working for me.... 1st, the ping is way too high and my high death ratio has gone even higher 2nd, keep getting kicked out with the msg that the server is for low ping users...grrrr Like all, I do understand we are going through some challenging times but, it would be great to see the original server back....
