Headed to Eastern Texas to settle my father (who will be 95 in 3 weeks) and step-mother into a nursing home. Dad is basically blind and my step mother has dementia. Neither of them can care for one another anymore, and they decided it's time..... Probably will be the last time I get to see my dad, unfortunately. I am sure I will need some in game banter from @ShadyBrady, @Tiger! and @Qualicum when I get back....so be prepared! Peace out see you all on the flip! I love my XI family! Today was a tough day, but tomorrow will be the toughest. We got a lot of things out of the house and donated. Tomorrow they move into the nursing home and the rest of the house gets cleared out and whether donated or hauled to the dump. So many memories....remember to cherish the time you spend with family. Seriously, one of the hardest thing I have ever had to do. The hardest thing I have ever had to do was to say goodbye to my twin boys that died at birth in 1990. And this was damn close to that... Walking away from the man that made me who I am...the one I idolized, my role model and the person I tried to emulate my entire life just plain sucked. Leaving him in that nursing home and hoping total strangers will care for him just ripped my heart out. It goes against every bone in my body. I am seriously heartbroken.
