stream from pc to TV... not heard of that but you may mean hook up the audio and video to your TV. If you have a HDMI port in the back of your TV... and one on your pc or laptop... that is the best because it does audio and video. If you just have a VGA port on your PC... and one on the back of your TV that is another way but audio will have to be a separate cable unless you just use computer speakers.

If you dont have a LCD or new kind of TV... you may not have any of the 2. You computer does not have RCA.. but the audio can be altered for that... the video can not be displayed.

Or you can just go get this....

That looks bad ass.. and cheap. $100 and down.

Use my ps3 in the basement to stream, but upstairs I'm looking for a wireless option. Pay a crap-load for cable, but all I watch is online.

i run a HDMI cable straight from my PC to my TV.

Netflix??? why pay to watch stuff when you can download it for free???

I download torrents from a couple different sites. Movies, Books, Music, TV Shows, Apps. Anything ya want, free free free!!!

I tried Netflix for the free 1 month trial. But with the download you are using for Netflix why not just download whatever ya want whenever you want. And i do believe Netflix movies are larger in file size to stream then a regular DVD rip downloads which are only 800mb. Your on Rogers i beleive Chris, same as me, 60 gig cap on download then they soak ya per MB.Only time i ever came close to the 60 was the 1 month netflix trial. There are a gazzilion torrent sites out there. Piratebay.org, demonoid.me and Bitsoup.org (bitsoup is private and ya gotta wait for days they open registration to get in, ive been with them 7 years, best site out there)

If ya want Chris, i can get ya set up on my days off with downloading torrents, it is very easy and the stuff available out there is amazing. I have in the past gotten screener copies of movies that were great quality BEFORE they hit theaters here. A show ya like and wanna catch up on previous seasons... they are all out there.

I do that too, an HDMI will run it fine, but there is no wireless option. The best you can do is get an Xbox or another PS3 hook that up and watch netflix =(

Whilst the main TV upstairs isn't Internet-capable, I have, attached to it, a Sony DLNA-compliant Blu-ray player that is.

This is connected to the router downstairs via a Homeplug network.

Also connected to the router is a Slingbox, plugged into a satellite receiver (mainly because our terrestrial TV reception

is so bad here due to the topography of the land between us and the broadcast mast).

My son took out a trial sub with Netflix and I found it too greedy for bandwidth - it eats too much of the monthly allowance.

I think Grey stated this simply because this forum is open to the world and XI doesn't condone illegal activities. Just so the site/clan doesn't get in trouble I think.

I never said I watch netflix, lol but I do have a hdmi cable ran from my vc to my tv. This works better than the other way I used to connect to the tv. I do have netflix tho, and I pay for it, it's cheap like 8 bucks a month. I can watch it on my pc or the tv here in the den that's hooked to my pc. My daughter has it on her laptop, and it's on the wii. With netflix you are allowed 3 connections which is kewl, I was just saying hdmi is the best way to go for hooking your vc in your pc to the tv. :D

You don't have to have a mac to use it. Can even stream iTunes content from your PC wirelessly or wired. Also can act as a screen (secondary or a mirror of the primary) for your iPad or Mac if you'd like and is full 1080p, pretty versatile little device for $99.

They may not be pursuing individual copyright-violators in your necks of the woods...yet.

However, in England, judges are ordering ISPs to hand over the personal details of account holders

whose IP addresses have been matched to torrents so the copyright-holder can seek damages.

The latest case involves a claimant called "Ben Dover" (LOL!) and you can guess what sort of movies he makes!

See: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/o2-copyright-suit-porn-company-den-dover,news-38138.html

A UK student is even being extradited to the USA on copyright infringement charges!

See: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/student-to-face-us-trial-over-tvshack-website-6289235.html

Whilst the movie industry hasn't made any friends with its past tactics - I, for one, objected to having to watch

a commercial accusing me of copyright theft when I had just bought a legitimate copy of a DVD - with streaming

accounts and DVDs now so cheap, there is no excuse to steal movies.

The Senior Admins are wise to distance the site and this clan from any suggestion of approval for/ support of

activity illegal in the country where its servers are based.

I have a Network Attached Storage (NAS) server in the basement. I took a core-2 duo PC, filled it with drives and installed Ubuntu server on it and set up shares. You can also buy off-the-shelf NAS boxes ready to go. In my entertainment unit I have an Apple TV. I bought a "jailbroke" one from a local entrepreneur - I was too busy and lazy to jailbreak it myself - so I could install XBMC on it (you can also install XBMXC on a PC, Mac, Linux etc). I can now stream all videos, music and pictures from my NAS, as well as having bucket-loads of on-demand streams to choose from. I can use my iPhone as a remote, which makes typing a search wayyyyy faster.f

Before you do this you best make sure you know the laws in your countries--- In the United States it is illegal----- There fore do not do it.

Bah.... they aint going after Joe Blow who is Downloading the files... its the guys supplying the files they are after. And the guys running the sites. Ive been downloading movies, books and music worry free for many many years. Dont recall the last time i rented a movie.

Yeah well you roll the dice every time you do this.

http://money.cnn.com...suits/index.htm

That was just last year alone

It is a risk to be sued unless you have a cable company like COX Cable.

They will not report your IP but they give you 3 chances to stop downloading or sharing.... then they cancel your service.

As for what you download.. if you get something popular like Hurt Locker and other popular movies... they may be watching.

If you go download Tron from the 80's... probably no one is watching. They are not making money off of Tron... they are off of new movies.
