Got my first pc so my brother calls me and talks me into downloading MOHAA demo game for free. He tells me we can play on line togeather. So I pick a name "KickBigDog" I think it was. Now you have to remember I have No experience with the net, YES I'm a NOOB. I go into this server and pick a M1 garand I think it was. So the guy running the server starts typing I'm a cheater etc, etc and he kicks me out of the game. So later that day I figure I better change my name so I won't get kicked anymore. Well I was putting Weed And Feed fertilizer on my lawn (It's now banned) hence the name. At first I was WeedAndFeed then had to shorten it to Weed&Feed and cod would not use "&" so Now I'm WeednFeed. Yes the name is Fertilizer and has nothing to do with WEED! No I am pretty boring no weed for me. KillerKitty was born (only few weeks later). Since then i go with that name, but as i only played UT99 and now COD4 ftag, ppl only know me now here on the XI servers. Then I got a copy of FEAR and really got into multi-player FPS. I joined my first clan, Pirate's Insane Posse and being naive used my real name, Katharine. After many games of little boys asking me to "cyber" and bothering me to the point where it was almost impossible to game, my clan had a meeting and renamed me Cpt. Janeway. (they were really into Star Trek, as am I) which eventually shortened into Janey.. When I moved on to CoD4 I played using public online name of MetryKat. (I live in Metairie, abrev Metry and my name is Kat.) Well, that came with it's own set of problems, like... "oh, have you tried Kat?" and "Are you gay? I can fix that." I joined a clan called AWI, and everyone had to have a name of a revered military leader or for the females a woman who was outspoken in civil rights. I played as Mae West, whom I admire. When AWI disbanded I decided to go back to that first name of Janey. I still which I had a cool or sexy name, like KillerKitty or Sex Panther, but I'm a plain Jane in real life so it fits. Have used a few different monikers, including CowZeDung on Unreal Tournament (original), and YACCster (Yet Another Chris C....). But because of my fast sDSL connection (for the time) I decided to tweak others with a 'fear my ping' taunt, eventually upgraded to multiple T1's, then Fiber (damn it's so much cheaper now (by about 12x)). So it might be related to my ping. It's also kind of fun to hear the assumptions of people over in the east that I'm possibly of relation, and to get the taunts of the racists who assume the same.
