Czech Pilsner is also good (they invented it). There are many good IPAs - my favourite is Thornbridge Jaipur. If you're in the States, avoid the mass-produced fizzy muck and, as my learned friend suggests, try some of the micro-brewery products. Awards

I finally got a chance to buy some Pabst Blue Ribbon once, that's all I ever get now. Ignore the hype when people says it's bad beer. It's the blue ribbon winner nearly everytime it enters in the beer competitions, and has been for generations. It's the best tasting beer I have found, with no bad aftertaste. It also does not give me a headache.

Remember what you get in country of origin is often of better quality and composition than when it is an "imported" beer. Edited January 12, 2013 by Shamu

I've had Heineken, Bud Lite w/ Lime, Coors Lite, Budweiser, and Corona so far in the past months, along with some mixed drinks and stuff, but I'm looking for one solid beer I can buy and not regret. Randall, I see you are from New Jersey. Perhaps you may want to visit the Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville PA, it would be a nice day trip. Damn place is built on the side of a hill. Yuengling is Americas oldest brewery and family run. I also feel quite comfortable in saying it is, by far, the most popular beer on the East Coast. Brewery tours are nice. http://www.yuengling.com/our_story/ RANDALL 1

It's often old and skunky. Got to a local brew pub and tell them you'd like samples of everything so you can see what you like. Start with the weakest and work your way up. Every man is going to pick a different one!! But in regards to beer, as an American I am sad to say our beer SUCKS! Miller and Anheuser Busch products are horrible, like water mixed with piss! The ONLY American beer I'll drink is Sam Adams or a local microbrewery beer. I work for a German company and have had the pleasure of drinking a few European beers and by FAR the German beers are the best! Prefer the Pilsners and there are many. Bitburger was a local one near my eployers base company near Aachen, Germany. You can get many imports here, including Bitburger, but at home here in the states, I buy Becks or St. Paulie Girl - good beer! Heineken gives me major headaches and is skunky tasting - though they have some great ads!!. Just my two cents! LordOfChaos, eidolonFIRE and RANDALL 3 Awards
