I just got this card last week and ran a benchmark on it.This is what I got.The card is not overclocked in any way.I tested it with the tessalation OFF.I'd just like to compare.

took a screen shot , (Alt+print screen),pasted and cropped it in paint,then uploaded it to the post ,

68.4 fps out of my little sapphire radeon hd 6870 1gb

 

 

And my 7870 Double D BE 2gb card did amazingly well.139.3 fps

That it max Rez for the monitor I have hooked up to it atm.

 

 

CPU matters quite a bit with benchmark utilities.And a little overclocking goes a long way.

 

Larsin how much heat are you putting out on that big ass card?

I almost got a 7970 until I found out it's almost a foot long.The 7870 Double D is the best one I could fit in there without getting out the Saws-all or getting another case.

lol nvm give me a second I set it to custom rez.

 

This PC has all the good stuff AMD has out.4.2 ghz 8 core AMD 16gb of very low latency memory and the best Asus Motherboard on the market.I suspect the FPS will drop a bit but the overall score may stay the same.

 

Getting really good FPS on Higher rez.I'll post it when it's complete.

Nope I can't get the Rez to go any higher than 1366 x 768. 138.9 fps and 3499 score.

 

I'll dig out my big CRT monitor in a bit and see what it does then.

Interesting that our scores are different.  Our specs are almost identical, right down to the 4.2GHz overclock on the CPU.  I don't know what kind of motherboard you have, or if your memory has the same timing as mine, but those are really the only major differences I could think would account for the difference.

Looks like you're one driver version behind, too.  That could account for it.

Well I dug out the old CRT and the best I can do for Rez is 1600 x 1200.I hate to get a new monitor,this one works good yet and is very clear.Maybe I'll get one with my tax return.

 

I defaulted the clock settings for this test.Much lower score now.Hey I got the 7870 on sale it's good enough for me.

Here is the Sapphire HD 6870 1gb card,AMD FX 8320 and 8gb ddr3.

 

Not the greatest card but it's good for COD4 and GuildWars 2.I get around 250-275 fps on cod4 but I have it locked at 200.Plays a bit smoother with it locked lower than your max FPS.

X-Ray I used the drivers from here http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx  I didn't use the disc.

I ran this while packing for my trip.  Here's my results on the balls-to-the-walls setting (except stereoscopic because I don't have a monitor that does that anyway.  Card does, monitor doesn't.)
