I also have teamspeak 3 and xfire, I'm 19 and been on here for around for longer than 3 months and made more than 20 posts, so I have met almost all the requirements. Only two things, I can't get my mic to work in CoD2 at all, but it works fine with everything else, I have tried. He has tried many times to correct it but to no avail. As he said it works fine with all of his other programs. I'm not sure of any other ideas to help him with it. Yea, still nothing with the Mic, Sonovabitch recommended I just use Teamspeak to let the admins know my voice, but would xfire work as well? It has kinda pissed me off with the mic not working but I don't any other suggestions. What I was thinking was uninstalling the game and then reinstalling it again seeing if that would work. (although one would think this would affect all apps) i also have a check box in my windows settings for letting apps take exclusive control. is it possible another app has exclusive control? just spit balling some ideas. Mic works with EVERYTHING except COD. If I fire up xfire I can sometimes have voice for 15 min or so before it just disappears. I have not installed Teamspeak to try it yet. I have several different mic set ups and NONE of them work...USB or the standard plugs. Reinstalling the game does not resolve the issue as this has been used on Win 98, Vista and now Win 7 boxes. Do most people using a mic go through Teamspeak or use the in game chat? So for example if you are running cod2, team speak, xfire all on the same pc you should: right click on teamspeak shortcut and run as administrator then right click on xfire and run as administrator then you right click on cod2 and run as administrator. if you stop cod2 or anything else you will need to run it as administrator when you start it back up. my friend had the same issue a while back this fixed it. hope it helps. I've researched this problem and found a few instances where the player was simply overlooking one or both of those settings, but I could find no other people with the same problem you're having where it works on other games and not COD2. It just has to be a simple setting that's being overlooked, or maybe there is another setting in your config files where chat is set to "no". If you look at the config files there are these 4 settings: seta winvoice_mic_mute "1" seta winvoice_mic_reclevel "65535" seta winvoice_mic_scaler "1" seta winvoice_save_voice "0" Take a look and make sure they're set as shown above.
