As far as what the real issue is I do not know but there is something going on there and most every body that plays there regularly complains about the lag! I have noticed that on certain maps with a certain ping range there seems to be more of a problem than most other times. Another funny thing about this problem when I check my HLSW console the lag meter on there may show completely green to mostly red. It's different at times than others. It seems ever since we relocated them to Dallas Texas that this has been a persistent problem. There are times when where I shoot or swing my knife i just can't buy a hit. When I try to cut my knife goes thru them and blood splatters yet not hit for me and I die. Would someone kindly take a look see at what is going on here! It's busy mostly all day and when it does run smoothly it is an awesome server. Certain weapons are better than others yet they are all effected by this problem! Now that I have said my piece I will let others say if anything what they have noticed!

Yes, I blame lag for not catching & overtaking Barnes.

BTW, downloaded some files off freezetag, and had to re-enter my tags & settings. Oh well, Barnes escaped again.

I'm sorry LCB you can't pass a barn . Ok so here's what we would like to do. we need 4 or 5 players with HLSW  http://www.hlsw.org/  they all need to  start hlsw at the same time lets say run it for 20 minute to 30 minutes then take a screen shoot of the lag o meter. Like this

 dm-server-_zpsc31cb45d.png

We need this to find out if its actually the server or everybody's isp doing this. What happening right now is there are players lagging and players not lagging. Some get CI's some do not. We do not have an answer to this question so we need to look deeper into the eye's on the interwebby to see whats up. I should remind everybody though why we changed servers in the first place. The Chicago server was worse then this server if by a measure of complaints alone.

Yeah, DJ's is horrible, yet Johnny's is good. You might want to check with your provider DJ.

It's actually not my provider.  I'm using a new utility to show this, but I have to wait till it goes all wonky again to capture it.  Earlier today, what I was seeing is that it is on the Dallas end of the connection, but it may not be SoftLayer directly.  Rather, I think it's their first lever peering network that's falling short.  Now if you ultimately get to the server via another route, then you may see something more like what Johnny's seeing, but if you hit the wrong inbound route, you get what I'm seeing.

And btw, just because my ping graph looks like a piano keyboard doesn't necessarily mean the game plays like shit for me.  In most cases it's just fine despite the piano.  I cannot explain that, but that's the way it is.  And sometimes, it seems that it all clears up when I go into the game.  I have a laptop running alongside me here, and although I may get a piano when I'm just monitoring, it might just clear up when I start playing.

This is all rather perplexing.

Yeah, no sly taken, Labob.  But as you can see, all is good to my ISP.  Believe me, this is the very first thing I checked.

Yeah, sorry...  Here's using pingtest.net  I chose the Dallas server as the destination.  I will have to recheck this when I get the piano back, but in the meantime it's decent.  Why didn't you run the test to Dallas, Labob?

My european ping usualy goes from 140 to 170 . I never had any problem whith it and was always able to play on XI servers based in the US  . Now i have a problems whith the Custom maps server. It goes from small lag problems to a game perfectly unplayable. From what i saw it depends on what map i'm playing . It also looks like that the longer i play the more lag i get...I tried to play on others US servers and had no problem   :help:
