Does anybody know if there is a patch or way to add the early COD games to a Windows 7 Computer.

I have been searching and so far have had no luck finding a way to load any of these earlier COD Games

on my Computer with the Windows 7 operating system.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated .

Insert the install disk then when you get the installation window cancel it .....then.....  Open the DVD Drive in Explorer and double-click on setup(.exe).

You have to run as as Admin

Open the DVD Drive in Explorer and double-click on setup(.exe).

First right click the.exe and select properties. Click the Compatibility tab and under the Compatibility mode place a check mark in the run this program in and then pull down the selection tab and select windows xp (service pack 3 ) option click apply and close that window.  Then instead of double clicking the setup.exe right click it and run as an administrator . All should be gold after that. Good luck

Yep, what Labob said. I am running COD2 under Windows 7, but set setup.exe to XP compatibility.

Here's the fix: plug a microphone into the 8mm jack. I know it's crazy. But it works.

Crashing how? Is the game not loading or are you getting an error before it crashes?

Harry's fix with the mic jack does work sometimes so try it out. But that's usually a fix for Windows 8 not 7. I use Windows 7 with COD2 on 2 PC's with no problems.

Ah. OK. Try this.
Go to Start and then open Control Panel. Click on "Sound." A window opens with four tabs. Click on the second tab, "Recording." Now, right click anywhere in the white area of that tab window and you'll see a dialog open that displays "Show disabled devices." Left click on "show disabled devices" to give it a check mark. You now see a new device shown in the recording box called "Stereo Mix." Right click, and select "Enable."
   Now try multiplayer.

I didn't get the Stereo Mix come up at all. Which is a shame. I will get hold of my dad and ask him if he knows what I can do

The XI Clan ROCKS !!!!!!!!

The XI Forums are fantastic and if you have a problem or don't understand how to get one of the

early versions of COD to work there are many knowledgeable members and Admins there to help

at the drop of a hat.

I haven't had or seen this type of loyalty and friendship from a group of Men and Women since I was

in the U.S.NAVY.

I wish to say "Thank You" to all those Members that

are here and ready to help a fellow forum member

and COD player with even the slightest problem they

may encounter.

Thanks for the invite "LoaderXI" As soon as I can get COD 2 Loaded and Patched I'll make a point of dropping in.

First I have to go to my Son's House and get my COD 2 Disk back from him. LOL he had been playing the single

player a few months ago and isn't using it any more so I'll see you soon.

Sorry to hear that DW....

Short of doing a complete uninstall and re install the only thing I can do is teamview with you and go over your cod2 files...

The problem I have seen with the sound thing has only been on Cod4 but recently on Cod2 have found our mod file get corrupt in players folders

and the CoD2MP_s as well

If you have teamspeak set up let me know when we can get together on there to do some sorting
