Their likely player base is going to be full of kids. Most kids dont like browsers and really arent all that interested in communities. A least in the traditional sense. However I would think they must have some kind of party system so friends can play together. As for the whole thing about maps falling out of favor as a reason, that is a farce. You can have servers and a browser. Just dont allow custom map rotations. Besides, when maps fall out of favor its usually because they suck. In BF4 it already startet that they have take away the rights to host BF4 servers from many hosters. What does EA care? They can have it both ways. They can have their matchmaking shit and their own servers for that and they can let people rent servers and have a server browser. They would not lose a thing ($). Now all they get is a shitstorm again and less potential buyers. After BF4 I swore not ever to pre order an EA game again and thats why I don't have Hardline. I certainly wont buy Battelfront until they come around and have a working system - so that at least ppl can join their favorite servers with their "friends".
