An XI Unreal 2004 server up and running. Currently set to the 'Mutant' gametype. 15 bots. In the server browser change to he mutant gametype and look for the XI server in the list. Come check it out.

Eventually the goal is to get the Fraghouse Invasion mod running but I still need time to sort all of that out.

Certainly a different look with UT than CoD but fun.  So many mods and mutators that nearly anything was possible. Probably going to try and set up a redeemer-only match just for kicks. Was great fun back in the day. One of the goals is to get away from anything CoD/BF. So not the usual DM/TDM or Freezetag. Greed was pretty fun also.

The rules for Mutant are simple but pretty different gameplay from the usual.

Yea I know. Those are set properly. However its possible that something on the redirect needs to be opened up to make it accessible by UT clients. Download is set to 'false' so only the redirect would work and no server downloads allowed. Forgot to take out that map. So only stock maps should be on the rotation now.

Installed the game from steam today, tried to join the server and got the same error as Loco;  Server refused to send 'DM-CBP1-Arkanos'

 

Ok, after installing all 3 community map packs I can get into the server. I think the Arkanos map was in the 1st map pack. This is my first time playing this and it's allot of fun. Really enjoy the server, thanks.

As always, Rugger and Duc... who know all things... helped get the redirect going. So uploaded all the CBP1 maps and they are in the Mutant rotation. Need to fiddle with that since they are all the last ones. When finished downloading, they wont go in your game install maps folder but a separate cache location since they are compressed archives. If you want the actual maps in their proper folders you can install the packages yourself or I am pretty sure there are tools around that will uncompress whats its the cache and do it for you.

Rules are short: The Mutant Deathmatch variation is where the first person to kill becomes the Mutant; a player with a starting 199 health and 150 shield, increased running speed, higher jumps, and 999 ammo for every standard weapon. After this, every player (with one exception) can only try and kill the Mutant, but in turn the Mutant can kill every other player. The person who lands the killing shot will then become the Mutant. The exception is the Bottom Feeder, the person with the lowest score. They can also kill other players. And, like a normal Deathmatch, the first person to reach the required amount of points (20 ATM) or has the highest score when time runs out wins.  16 players... which could mean 4 players and 12 bots.

If any UT players remember great DM maps let me know what they are and I will add them. One last thing. I havent install it yet but the old anti-cheat package should still work from what I read. Up until they stopped supporting it way back when. So must still watch for any cheaters and deal with them.

When I try to execute under HLSW  I get the following error:

UT2004.exe   Windows can not find "UT2004.exe"

I have gone into Settings and put in     C:\Program Files (x86)\GalaxyClient\Games\Unreal Tournament 2004\System\

Any suggestions?

Also I have several hundred death maps on my machine  -   play them all the time -m anyway to get them to the server??

anything you download is cached for 30 days on your   ut2004/cache folder  then it will delete you can use this tool ut2004mi http://wickedhq.com/index.php?/file/2704-ut2004mi/

to install your cache so you dont have to download it again :)

Oh man. DM gametype while I mess with things. TCC is working but also added the smarter bots mutator. Then increased bot skill level to 'skilled'. Which is two levels above 'average' but still a few below 'godlike'. So they do more than just move slow or stand there and accuracy is better. They dodge, jump, and all the rest. They are fucking tough and its mayhem with 16 players/bots. However at 16 many of the maps are just too small so have to work on that.

Anyways, yea its not like OW2 but great fun. Dont know yet if the smarter bot mutator will apply to Fraghouse Invasion when that is online but it should. Will have to test.

At least it is on my machine.

Sammy - have several Galaxy games hence the Galaxy Client - in any case got it t o work

Fraghouse Invasion V5 up and running. Needs work however and I will be going through settings when I can. Get the mod and install on your computer.

When you start up UT go to 'community' and start the mod. Or you can click the bat file (not the server one) in the FHI mod folder. The XI server should then be in the internet section of the server browser. The only one actually. Like most other invasion type games if youre out that wave then thats that. If the remaining members finish the wave you are respawned.
