COD5 Shotguns (with Grips)

COD5 DM2 Shotgun (w/ Grip) Kill Efficiency

Never did a poll before, so we'll see how (or if) this even works.

So I understand there's been some flack in the servers about the accuracy and deadly nature of shotguns with grips.  It has been determined that the shotgun weapon settings are STOCK, so apparently this is how a COD5 shotgun with a grip is supposed to behave. 

Now, I'm not one to prevent the masses from speaking up on the matter, and God knows I'm opening a big-ass can of worms even creating a pool like this, but what the hell, right?

So, just for the sake of argument, and with absolutely no expectation that anything will change, do you think the shotgun with a grip should be reduced in "efficiency" of kill power?

Are you sure they are stock DJ. This is what I see. This is in meters and I believe they both use to be 25. I'm not sure.

I asked Labob if he was aware of any adjustments that had been made, he posted a bunch of stuff from one of the config files and said it was set at stock settings.  

You're actually a much better person to ask, though.  Do you remember changing the setting at all?

Those settings are from the stock game. That server is running the ace mod that's a custom mod. And I found it. My bad here's where things are at. Stock setting should read 100 for everything if its more or less its been changed.

Yeah I probably did. I went by what the book says for range. It is measured in meters. But I think I turned the trench gun up higher for some reason. If you want the pictures for all the weapons I will send them to ya.

All should be at 100? So that means the 100 means 100% of the damage parameters set elsewhere?  

So in other words, 100% of the values Beers mentioned?  These:

If that's the case, we've got a lot of weapons running at 200% of their rated firepower!

 

@2_MANY_BEERS - Where'd you get that book?  That looks like a pretty handy reference!

So the two your dealing with is wrm and wdm  weapon range modification  and weapon damage modification. 100 wdm  would be a kill at the  distance set in the wrm  200 would be a kill at a larger distance. Same goes for the distance setting my guess on the shoot guns the round would quickly fail after the distance set. SO if you up the 25 to 50 and the wdm is 100 it would be a one shot kill at 50 meters.  So the range set for the double barrel is set 25 meters. So that weapon at 100 (wdm) and (wrm) at 25 would be a kill. So now at  40 meters it could take 2 or 3 shoots to kill . Also keep in mind you have to nail the target a glance don't count :)  As it is right now the double barrel is set to (wrm) 25 and (wdm) is 150 so just a  guess because I have no idea what math they used would be a one shoot kill at say 60 meters.  And the handle perk just steady's the weapon so it becomes a rifle shoot gun

  So to make it do what you would like play with those numbers.

no labob like i told beers ^^^^^^^^ some are different than others and as a dirty wheel i don't use my wheel to zoom and my keys are not sticking so what do think?lol it that the some scopes have been messed with so much they all need to be set back to their standard settings that came with the game out of the box?then how much cod5 cust map2 do you play i have never seen you in there so how would yo know what the weapons are doing?

It's a totally unfair advantage. I used the pump with grip last night and it kills way too easy.

Pretty sure if you attach the grip you lose perk slot 1. Not really sure if it's worth it in that case. I'd rather have 3 nades or satchels than a grip.

But if that is the case then it seems to be balanced well if the gun is that much better.
