lol anyway as I recall in Canada you use to be able to sign your tax return add your paper work and send it in. The revenue service would complete it for you for free. It just took them longer to process

Exactly, use to do my own taxes with the free turbo taxes , but learned a lot and saved a lot  having a broker do it . Guess it just a peace of mind thing  knowing you did all you could to try  to keep your own money earned legally.  lol

Anyone who has unemployment will want to hold off on filing.  If and when Biden signs the "Stimulus Package", the first $10,200 in unemployment will be non taxable.  Should know by Friday if it passes and is signed.   Anyone who has filed and had unemployment can do an amended return.    To reduce their taxable income by the amount of unemployment they received up to the $10,200 limit.   Unfortunately this puts pressure on the IRS and preparers when they pass legislation mid tax season.  Morons !!  Also be sure to correctly report your prior stimulus payments, you may be eligible for the balance if you did not receive the full amount previously.  If anyone has any questions, PM me.

Yeah, well; except that 2 minutes into itemizing one can see the .58/mile deduction is orders of magnitude more profitable.  Then again, why was I conversing with a flippin' stuffed t0y, anyway.  I mean, I don't talk to my bacon or pork chops before I fry them.  Then again, sometimes I do.  "Man, you're gonna taste sooo good, little buddy..."

We gets calls every year form people who do it online and really fuck things up 🙂   The whole "interview interface" that these online systems use leaves out many important "deductions, stipulations and requirements" .   A computer interview can not dig deep to see if one qualifies for certain tax breaks.   Looks like a deadline extension may be announced at some point.  July 15th like last year is my guess.

Not difficult to believe.  The .58/mile deduction for me made it rather simple for me.

Grubhub, doordash, instacart, postmates, etc.  So, Independent Contractor.  Other than the mileage, supplies & meals is about it.  Took like 20 minutes.

I guess it doesn't matter.  After a certain date extensions are filed anyway.  😋

Here in Canada the wife does income tax returns. You would be surprised that some of the stuff people could claim and didn't know it.
