I am a photographer and I process a large amount of photos at a time so I need something that will run smoothly while using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Also something that will work well for gaming. I currently have an HP Pavilion https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C3DWS63/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I know I want at least 16 GB of ram, i7 or better Processor, and 1TB of hard drive storage at a minimum ( I also use external hard drives ). Aside from those things I have no idea what to look for. Computer specs is a language I do not understand. Any suggestions or advice on graphics cards, PC brands, or anything else would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance! Awards

This means their current chips & architecture should drop in price even more, making for an excellent opportunity to buy at a great value. You should be able to get the 12 core 5900x for around $300 in the next week or two; an exceptional deal & more than enough for your requirements. October 12th is the release date for the new Nvidia 4000 series video cards. AMD ryzen 7000 series CPUs are due to be released here in just a couple of days. Prices on alot of the CPUs and GPUs will be down significantly by Black Friday. Can't believe your kicking our asses with an HP. HAX lol. This is if you buy the new platform. I'd wait 'til the attendant bugs shake out that are inevitable with new platforms & standards being rolled out. Edited September 23, 2022 by Timmah! Are they ssds/nvmes or old hard drives? Looking at the specs in the Amazon link, it is an old style hard drive. Upgrading to an ssd/nvme should provide a large performance/productivity boost for programs like photoshop and lightroom. Not to mention just for general day to day performance. If budget isn't too much of a concern, you could look at a 144hz monitor for gaming, if you don't already have one : ) Which graphics card do you currently use? Also that the psu would be able to handle it. Assuming I've found the right system on the hp website, the power supply is 310w which is low. Something like a 1050 is on the smaller side, so that might work, and only seems to need a 250w psu, although that might be pushing it. Some sites suggest 300-350w. Maybe a 1030 These cards are an upgrade on the onboard graphics, but still on the lower side as far as playing modern games with decent fps. Might be better just to wait until you were upgrading everything, if you decide to wait. Could always try an ssd/nvme first and see how much of a difference it makes. Decisions, decisions, haha. Didn't check for full compatibility, but gives a rough idea. As others have mentioned, better deals may be available soon. Edited September 24, 2022 by Sharpe MHsDaughter and Majbasil 2 Awards

The crazy thing is that this was with "Off The Shelf" motherboard and CPU and Memory and it was an All Core overclock. Even a Binned intel 12900ks on a Binned motherboard can not run stable with an All Core overclock without disabling the E cores (Efficient-cores). Awards

With a good 360mm AIO water cooler they can easily get up to 95C under load. Intels 13900k will run very hot as well. Intel just released info on there 13000 series chips the other day. Release date is October 20th. 5000 series Ryzen chip prices are steadily dropping allready. Good time to upgrade to the 5000 series chips if you are running a 1000,2000 or 3000 series Ryzen chip. I'll have to look up my MSI x470 gaming plus max motherboard and see if it fully supports 5000 series chips. If it does I'm most likely going to upgrade my 3700x to a 5800x or a 5800X3D. The 5800x is allready down to around $250 and it should go lower. And the Ryzen chips are now officially available from Bestbuy if anyone wants one.The 7950X is sold out allready lol. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?_dyncharset=UTF-8&browsedCategory=abcat0507010&id=pcat17071&iht=n&ks=960&list=y&qp=processorsocketsv_facet%3DProcessor Socket~Socket AM5&sc=Global&st=categoryid%24abcat0507010&type=page&usc=All Categories Edited September 29, 2022 by J3st3r Awards
