As said above, installing COD4X fixes most issues with COD4. You need to extract the file to your COD4 folder and then run the install from there. If you have any issues then I could run through it one evening (I'm uk based)

@Totty @BROMODROSYS Totty has some great information on running an COD4 program that smooths everything out for this old game.
