New computer upgraded to W11.....

Just got my new PC ive just almost done to install most of basic programs i need , now tougher task is to get my old games reinstalled like COD 4 and 5 WAW ill post issues when ill be there.

Hard ware is :

ASUS Z890-plus wifi mother board, but ethernet cabled.

INTEL Core ultra 7 265 KF 3.9 GHz  

64Gb Kingston Ram

SSD Kingston drive 2TB M.2 2230

4TB hard drive for data

Nvidia TUF Ge Froce RTX 5070 graphics GPU 12GB DDR7

1000W Corsair power supply.

Hope this will be good for few years my old pc was 12 yrs old and didnt support W11 requirements..

Nice specs Mark.  Now you can die with some extra frame rates haha.

My PC older now too but hard to justify spending the money, especially for an older game like COD4, COD5.

i dont know the specific prices but the whole pc is 4K$ CDN.

SSD RAM and GPU where more pricier than last year for sure

I had to change it because old pc wont support W11 , and all hardware were too old for newer games , i love resident evil and needed new ram and gpu to run the latest one.

Ill keep my old till ill be able to install and run COD5 and COD4.

Finally i managed to install from my original DVD COD5 , im installing the patches , i read that maybe ill need to run it in compatibilty mode..let see.

Now COD4 from Steam crashes at opening

Now COD5 works fine after deinstalling Overwolf  andTs overlay a huge thx to  @CrazyGirl

That overwolf is a pain in the ass.. I ran into a few games that it just messes up cuz it's installed

Yes team speak will work with win 11.  I invested in the steam versions of the games because I always had a hard time getting dvd/CD version to work.. always save and backup your user profiles for the games so you don't have to restart from 0 lol

Congratulations on the new pc! 

For cod4 you should just have to install the steam version and then the 1.7 patch found in XI downloads. 
 

It’s been a long time since I’ve downloaded it, but I think this is the one I used to download by @loaderXI.

Also, maybe do a full driver update.  
 

If it starts and then crashes, remember the headphone issue where sometime you have to have headphones connected to start the game. There is a work around for this.

yes its working but the problem was with installing it it installs also unwanted overwolf thats caused some problems at opening COD.

for me i was installing from original DVD , first trials gave me some reading errors cause discs was dusty lol.

after clean up i was lucky worked then i installed the patches 1.0 to 1.7 . 

then copied all saved profiles and maps from old PC , and it worked after removing that overwolf Crazygirl gave me the hint.

Yes true it started when i plugged the HSet in.

Now my COD old games are working fine .

I managed  to copy my profiles and maps from old pc.

Thx to everyone for the help.

now i have the make the best setup for my monitor which is fast i think its a 1ms response (200Hz).

I know the hardware not needed for old COD games but with newer ill be ok.

yes SSD ,  memory and gpu are pricy since much of the resssources are needed by AI development.
