Isn't this the same media outlet that make outlandish accusations and conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11, Sandy Hook, birthers, etc.. Just asking...

My take:

Because it overreaches into our lives, cannot be trusted (as in the IRS targeting of conservative groups), and tramples our rights when convenient to some political purpose, the federal government has few friends among the citizenry. And so it's easy to sympathize with Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who is under siege from the Bureau of Land Management, and join the chorus protesting what they claim is yet more government thuggery.

But the facts are often lost among emotional outcries in situations like this and they argue for Bundy’s arrest. If the BLM is to be faulted it should be for its failure to act sooner and more forcefully. Bundy grazes his cattle on federal land as do thousands of other ranchers who pay a relatively minor fee for that use of public property: $1.35 per month, per animal. That’s a great bargain, at the taxpayers’ expense.

But 21 years ago, Bundy decided he’d rather pocket the fee and quit paying it. When challenged, Bundy said he didn’t have to pay the fee because his family has used the land for over 100 years. He said he “owned” the land, but that even if he didn’t own the land, the state, and not the federal government, owned it. Well, there are no squatter’s rights to federal land, and Bundy’s refusal to compensate the taxpayers for use of their land is no different from someone who decides to quit paying his income tax.

Two federal court rulings side with the government, and Bundy was told any further grazing on public land would result in seizure of his livestock found there. We are a nation of laws, after all. Allowing Bundy to continue to break them invites every other rancher to follow suit.

I got to this passage (near the top)...

You are watching history unfold in real time now, and of course the lamestream media has intentionally decided U.S. history isn't worth covering because, frankly stated, the media is largely run by anti-American interests who absolutely do not want any victory by the People to be broadcast anywhere.

...and decided this was all a huge load of bullshit, bullshit reporting, or any combination thereof.  Not worth the bandwidth to get it to me.

the feds, and fed reserve, re:taxes, is whats a load of BS, heres NO legal basis for collecting a dime, yet we continue to do so, like a bunch of a-h's.

the point is that we as peeps have the numbers, to stop police state, we are becoming. the 'feds' blacked out cells and airspace, & told the lamestream press not to cover it, so they didnt (save fox)  the drudges, and http://www.infowars.com/, etc etc... ARE the only real objective/thinking/reporting truths out there.  CNN & ABC< MSNBC..are bought and paid for...not the way things should be...press must be free, open, and investigative.  Is this even USA anymore?

Waco, and 911, and MANY more etc, are black flags, (I live near NYC) the immense crap handed out should outrage us!  We cant seem to think anymore.

In one aspect of 911, the 40, 6 inch think I-beams, should still be standing.  Nothing even close could do that as represented. Ive been a pilot since 1969, and a master welder... thats my accounting, but theres far more....if one is open.  What flight # hit the pentagon? what airline?  what passengers were killed?  NONE!  clean wreckage from various aircrafts were on the lawn ...the next day....freedom aint free, we need to take action,as in this case via the net, when shit like this happens

Im sure ur busy mot, read on passed the first few lines, b4 making judgement..or continue ignorant....u choose it dude

Well if it's public land free for all Americans to use, what's to stop other ranchers from taking another big heard of cattle down to the same place this guy has his cattle and letting them graze there too until all of the cows over-graze the land and make it useless?

I mean based on this guys argument, I should be able to drive over to Nevada with my 30.06 and slaughter a few of his cows to feed my family. Right? If "we the people" own the land and have the right to do whatever we want on it, there should be no regulations against hunting his cows on it.

There is no revolution starting. This guy's father made a deal with the feds to graze his cattle on federal land, and the rancher has been trying to change the rules of the original agreement.  Getting all of the "states rights" people to back him on this issue is a joke.

Nice clear explanation of the facts well done Mr Weezer.

Whereas I am very cautious of the actions of our current president and his administration I don't feel like the federal government is out of line here.

Like LOM stated this guys dad made a deal with the Gov. and now he wants to default and not pay the bill . . . .it just doesn't work that way. This Bundy guy needs to snap out of it and pay up or shut up. Flaming the fire of government wrongdoing in this case is a waste of time and the people or oranizations that are behind this should save their resources for a battle that can be won and we know that the Gov will accomidate them soon enough.

Really?

Or, just perhaps they didn't want to have to get into a gun fight over a bunch of cows. Kind of the same reason cops will sometimes stop chasing a car before somebody gets killed.

Here is the latest on this douche bag. All of the politicians who backed what he was doing are now trying to distance themselves from him because of these comments he made in an interview.

http://www.nbcnews.com/#/politics/politics-news/gop-scrambles-condemn-ranchers-remarks-race-n88556

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

So do some of you still think this guy is starting a revolution?

Yup I saw the comments the guy made today. It's not good for his supporters. They want to support the anti-gov thing but dont want to support him. How much of his problem is due to a black man being president giving orders when he says he would be better off still being a slave? He should have kept his big mouth shut. Instead he just handed a nice little political issue to politicians running against his supporters that are now quickly trying to distance themselves from him. I guess it would be no different than a democrat supporting some guy that later makes stupid comments about 'crackers'.

Good grief, This guy has been a fixture, frontpage of Fox News and Hannity for days on end and then he makes incredibly racist comments as he did, where are they?

Take a look at Fox today?  From front page to completely barried.   Bundy may have an argument with the government, but its hard to listen to someone who is wearing a while pillow case on thier head..

Its more nonsense...Bundy don't want to pay taxes and the government is in enforcement mode...what the scary part is that the BLM didn't call on the local police, state police, national guard....whatever...they rolled in with their own SWAT team.....hmmm...that got me thinking....turns out agencies like the Dept of Education and the EPA and even NOAA (the weather agency) have military arms....and have stockpiled 100's of 1000's of rounds of ammo and have budgets for military hardware. Now what does NOAA needs with a SWAT team??? To me this is alarming ( I am so far from a conspiracy theorist its not even funny)

Who knows....but I will make a plan and continue with my life hoping to never have to use it....

It's sad that before people rally around someone, they don't take the time to get to KNOW who he is. Totally agree with Pete's comment. The guy is a bigot. Haters always tend to draw quick crowds, but their message (no matter how well planned) goes back to who they really are. This guy is not a revolutionary, he has been stealing land for years. Our country is need of leadership, but this guy isn't it.

The shame is this is an issue, government overreach. The problem is this isn't the guy to rally around. He has been a freeloader for 20 years. He has had several court injunctions against him during that span but still be persists.

Him being a racists only makes people look like fools for like what Landshark said, you have to make sure you know whom you are supporting before you lend your name to their cause..

Bad situation.
