Thanks for the link. I got 10 and like it but still debating in going back to 7. Done all this stuff plus the extras. Microsoft is just doing what Google and Facebook have been doing for a long time, although MS is just not being upfront about it... Pricks...

As more and more services come from the Web, more and more ads you'll see to pay for them.

It's a tangled Web that has been weaved...

I run a Microsoft stack so it works for me to be sharing the majority of my data with them, I have a few things tweaked. As that video says - it's not all bad and the majority is simply to allow things such as Cortana, windows updates and user reactive features to work.

I prefer Windows 10 over Windows 7 for general gaming and non-intensive things like office programs. I still use Windows 7 on my development machine however - but I imagine I will upgrade that in a year or two.

I have 10 and 7 installed. All the spying features are enabled by default but you are allowed to turn off 100% of those features. Or at least i think you can so just in case i have 1 spy feature hiding some where i still use 7 sometimes.

I have 10 burned to install discs, and key written down. Wasn't going to say no to MS when they offered their operating system for free, but I'll run 7 until forced over. If you really don't like Bill Gates & company, give Knoppix 7.6 a try. Still a pain to use for gaming, but linux has everything else down pat.

I seen a program that came out within the last few weeks thats only 0.5mb and it basically removes any microsoft spying altogether. Reviews I seen were excellent. Its called "Destroy Windows 10 Spying (Final version)"

This was the description of the program :

Removal of keyloggers in Windows 10
Disable telemetry
Disabling Cortana (she is watching you)
Disable Windows Defender'a (he is watching you)
Disabling jobs to send your data
Deleting Metro applications (they too are watching your actions)
Adding hosts spyware M $ to hosts
Create a restore point, to roll back the system to the state before action program
Many utilities ..
And much more ...

I dont have windows 10 installed but I just thought I would let people know about this program if they have Windows 10 and want to opt out of the mass data collections
