@EDD THE DUCKsaid he is looking at having 2 fests. One in Knottingham and the other in York. That's all I know. 

 

There may be two Yanks making it this time. Me and @@B-Murda.

... why would it make sense to have two fests both in the UK ... less than 2 hours' drive from one another?

I mean, I'm pretty insane, but if I lived in one of these I wouldn't even think twice about going to a 2 hour concert in the other, let alone a weekend long party.

 

Either way, my summer vacation plans so far include a trip to Scotland. Nottingham is pretty well on the route and Nottingham was pretty neat last time so I'm def. going to keep room in my calendar for this year's XI Fest.

I've never been to old York and according to the internet there's fuck all to do there, but we'll see.

i was watching  a program and some of the public house/hotels/places of interest are not opening till dec 2016

I don't know where you idiots went last year, but the year before it we did Nottingham and I quite liked the hotel and town. I'd be perfectly happy going there again.

4-Brighton - bloody good night out but rooms will be expensive

It's not a stag do its a Euro fest, Nottingham my arse, you lot are always going to hold it somewhere down South, you want to talk about stag Capitals and you don't even mention Newcastle, one of the best city nights out in Europe.

If you have a bona fide good idea for a city because the city is more interesting and has more nice places to go than Nottingham and is easily reached, then please, show some examples and I'm sure everyone will be interested in discussing which town is the better choice.

 

But please don't just start arguing everyone has to come to a city you happen to live near. Some of us are flying in, and a lot are driving a ways. We're not interested in a city just because you live close to it, we want to be able to reach it fairly easily and not need 48 hours to fly back out to civilization afterwards. We need a city that has basic amenities such as a nearby airport or at least good motorway connections to one. Nottingham has proven itself in that respect, if you have an alternative then please, put your post where your heart is and provide something for us to get interested in, rather than just pissing on Edd.

 

I don't mind people pissing on Edd, but it's not going to make anyone change their mind about what city to go to.

And for the record: the 11am piss up isn't a theoretical might be. I'm saying most of the XI Fest was detected at around that time in a nearby pub, well on it's way to being unsafer to drive than usual.

Flying into Manchester and driving to York would work, but we should consider arranging to ride together with those flying in, because it's a bit of a drive and I wouldn't use the UK public transport outside of London given the choice.
