The mod tools will give full access to files so we can mod like we have in the past. Depends on what kind of tools and restrictions. Mapping looks really good and much easier to do than cod4/5 apparently. After the learning curve. The mods will make or break it. If so it means you will not buy something else. Which is likely their goal. Get more people to buy bo3, and more dlc, than the money going to their competitors. We also said for years no mods no buy. They are now going to release the game so we the players can set it up the way we want. I bought the game and I will map for it ond hope it takes off. They promised similar when Black Ops 1ST came out. It never happened because Activision could not figure out a good way to continue making money on content built by others. Which I imagine will be required because of the stock assets maps would require to keep down the custom made stuff. You have to think about. If you had to pay for every mod played in cod4 XI... how much it would have cost people over the years. At least a couple hundred bucks. Acemod, G13, mw2ftag, rotu. Star Wars. And so on.
