After many months of reading, talking, bla, bla bla. I ordered this. I got cheaper than the link and the 3 year warranty helped. Of coarse when you pay thus much you already paid for the FREE DELIVERY!

As with everything I looked at the web is full of opinions good and bad for and against.

HXTR it's just the monitor in the link. I have a new pic built in February this year.

See the link bellow. I like the 3 year warranty

Wow Sorry about that. When I tried it the first 2 posts it worked lol I must have had the browser open at that page.

I hope this one works. The price I paid was 10% less than the red sale price. That is Canadian $$ so the US price would be 38% less.

So I paid $629 CA

I know that Gsync adds $200. This is a TN screen the IPS screens are $900 and more. I know I know it is a lot of $$ but like my last pc lasted 9 years, my old truck is a 2002, my wife's car is a 2004.  We make sure we get our $$ out of things.

I'm 59 and Mrs Weed is still getting her $$ out of my wallet. LOL

I bought this one 2 weeks ago it cost me £379.99 which is $471, it is 32 inch with Bang and Olufsson sound, if you reverse the currency  you paid $699.99 which would be £563.64 in my currency, it does seem like you are paying over the odds a bit Weed, hope it is a good one m8.

When I first turned this monitor on, not gonna lie, it was very underwhelming. Colors were washed out and it was too bright. You HAVE to calibrate this in order to see its true potential. Here is what I finally landed on. Use this for yours or atleast a starting point. You should be able to play games without adjusting in game brightness. Here we go.

Nvidia Control Panel>Adjust desktop color settings:

Brightness-50%

Contrast-50%

Gamma-0.60%

Digital vibrance-70%

Hue-0

CLICK APPLY

DELL Monitor settings:

Brightness-26%

Contrast-75%

Color>Custom Color:

R-97%

G-99%

B-96%

*Also, download the latest driver for this monitor on Dell's website.

And you're welcome :)

Asus and Acer both have similar monitors in the $700-$800+ price range. Some of them are IPS. I considered those, but they all had

many poor reviews, one star reviews, with some people stating they were on their 3rd or 5th monitor after returning them time and again. I couldn't see paying $800 for poor or iffy quality. Many people stated this monitor had better build quality.

I went from a 25" IPS 1440 monitor to this one (mostly for the 144 refresh and gsync). Obviously the IPS was brighter, had deeper darks, and brighter colors, but this monitor actually held up pretty well in comparison. I'm satisfied with the picture. It's better than my last TN panel, which suffered from flat colors, poor viewing angles, and couldn't handle any glare. The glare coating on this is noticeable, but not too overbearing. It depends on your preferences. The build quality seems good, and the stand is fantastic. Very heavy, durable, with lots of adjustment options (looks good too). I had no dead pixels on mine, and I don't have much noticeable light bleed or uneven lightning or anything like that (one benefit of TN over IPS, as my IPS had very noticeable light bleed in some areas).

A few notes about gsync. I was playing Fallout 4, and still noticed tearing and stuttering, so I wasn't sure if gsync was working. Turns out, to turn off vsync in Fallout 4, you need to change a line in the .ini file. Once I did that, gsync became very very evident. You can still tell when the frames start to drop down in the 30s or 40s (mostly because in Fallout 4, you'll be at 120 FPS once second, then 40 in the next), but you don't get any of the tearing or other problems you'll see when you have vsync enabled. Well worth the money.

I've been waiting for the Asus PG279Q to release for months but, after hearing of the quality control issues, I decided to go with the Dell S2716DG instead. The Dell has everything I want in a monitor ( 1440p, g-sync, 144hz ) but is a TN panel. I've owned Everything from a regular ole TN to a 4K TN ( Acer XB280HK) to a 5k iMac and did not want to go the TN route. I researched the Dell as much as I could and most people concluded that the new Dell S2716DG is just another washed out TN with terrible colors and horrific viewing angles because it shares the panel from the old Asus PG278Q. However, I decided to try it anyways.

As soon as I turned on the monitor I was surprised by the color. It looked good to me. Not mind blowing but it looked really good. I turned down the brightness from the default 75 to 30 and the contrast to 65. I then used the nVidia control panel to change the gamma from 1.0 to around .88 and the color vibrancy from 50% to 62% and now I feel the picture looks amazing... I am VERY happy with how everything looks; from the desktop to games.

I'm a little confused by how good the viewing angles are. I had an Acer XB280HK (4K, G-Sync, TN) and I could see an obvious shift in gamma from the top of the screen to the bottom. If you moved your head from side to side the image would almost disappear. I thought this was just what TN panels did and I was willing to accept that with this Dell. However, when sitting in front of it, the image looks perfect. No obvious shift in gamma or change in color from the top of the screen to the bottom. Also, I can look at the screen from the sides ( 178 degree viewing angle) ...and I can see the picture fine. It actually barely changes color at all. Same from a straight view from above.

Monitor itself is amazing so far. But it has one glaring issue. Initial install you MUST disable power save on the monitor then restart it to make it work, unless you start it with a HDMI cable instead of DP cable. I got an HDMI cable to make it run and found this out after. Had I not had an HDMI cable and a spare monitor this would have been a major issue, as I wouldn't know if it was my newly custom built PC or the monitor.

Listen carefully, Disable power save mode. Then restart the monitor by unplugging and plugging back in. If you don't it will only work with HDMI.

Press button 4

Press button 3

Scroll down to others then disable it and restart monitor, by unplugging and plugging back in.

Aside from this glaring issue that freaked me out when I powered up first time, it is great. Honestly that power save feature should have been off by default since it has issues.

Thanks HXTR I did read all those reviews and posts on how to set it up. There are several on the net. That Monitor also has different versions on the builds the newer builds have better coatings and software changes.

Well, I spoke with DELL support a few times. I can not believe how uninformed and the lies I have been told. I ordered this monitor on Nov 25 and have been told it every story one could imagine. I was told it was expedited lol. This monitor is suppose to arrive Jan 10/2017. Well after all the bad info I got from support I finally cancelled the order.
I wanted the 2556 x 1440 resolution wit the 144hz but settled for a 1080P 60 hz. after speaking with Rezistoner about the new Samsung 32" curved monitor he just purchased it went on sale here in Canada $140 off. I must say it looks great for Battlefield 1
