COD5 Ban Appeal

   I have no idea, I was playing and I was suddenly kicked. When trying to rejoin the server it stated that I was permanently banned.

I was the one who banned you tonight.

I was spectating you when you were seeing and shooting through the wooden walls. The 2 kills you got before you were banned were highly questionable.

Rara22 (one of the killed) even typed when you got shot that it was a wall shot. I can agree to it as you couldn't have known 2 people were on the other side of the wall.

I will have the other Admins look at the video I posted of the game play and we will get back to you. My initial ban will still remain in place until the video is reviewed.  Sit tight.

I understand why you may feel as if I was cheating. But when there is a recon plane up I tend to look at the radar to be able to tell where people are, also those wall shots were very lucky because half of the time I don't make them. Another thing to note is that I tend to pre-fire areas where enemies will commonly be.

sorry but comments like this do not help in ban appeals. Ya need proof not hunches. The only thing questionable play gives you is the right to spec a player not ban one.

I don’t even know how to mod nor do I have interests in doing so. I used to play call of duty competitively and understand specific ways to play the game. Whether it’s pre-firing, or shooting through walls knowing there’s another person on the other side due to a recon plane.

I did consider a recon, so I went back to check. There was no Enemy Recon plane up, they last 15 seconds and there was no start or end to any recon when you made these kills, so that excuse is not valid.

Pray and spray through a wall is one thing, This was a short burst that killed 2 opponents. Rara22 and Billy Milano in a very direct area.

Your quotes of " I used to play call of duty competitively" and "I don’t even know how to mod" are 2 statements that contradict each other. Anyone who plays competitively would know how to do this as they do change user .ini files or have modified their game profiles.

I have asked other admins to verify my findings of the video and it has been agreed.

So, from my stance, the ban stays, appeal denied.

Also,

While waiting for further confirmation, it was not wise to try to backdoor our server with a different GUID.  So, if it is you that is playing under the name _main_, that name and GUID is now banned as well.

This is the same IP used for both GUID's and all your alias's. We have the ability to see all the alias's IP's and GUID's for all who play on the server.

If you are having an issue with your COD4 being banned please take that up with steam. this is not the place. We are discussing the ban on ariyah as this is his ban appeal.

Anything not pertaining to ariyah is not appreciated.

ShaunZar was making a statement that really didn't have any validity for this appeal other than to state a thought that he had while playing against ariyah.  ShaunZar, please take not of this. This has nothing to do with thoughts, but proof.

All others that are not in an Admin position, should leave this to the people who actually have the duty by position granted.

I have not had any real contact with Labob, but his wisdom as past Admin/Head/Senior Admin etc. can be a great insight.

Unfortunately, he has stepped aside, but was also stating what the other admins already know.

 

There has been a changeover at XI where there is a newer, younger, and a sometimes less experienced admin and or mod team. I myself have been an admin for almost 2 years and still will consult the wisdom of other admins that have been around longer before I act on an issue. Case in point. I have asked our other XI team admins for advice and to look at the video that was recorded.

Yes in whole or part. Main and ariyah have different GUID's but they do have the same IP address. One can only deduce from the date of when main last played/created and the fact that ariyah is no longer playing, that they are probably:

1. In the same house or sharing a router/gateway.

2. That they are either roomates or the same person.

But that doesn't matter for this appeal as they have now both been banned. If I see ariyah and or main in the game again or can prove that they are trying to get back into the server under a different name, I will ban that GUID as well. So, it only begs to answer the question... How many dead copies of COD5 does ariyah want to purchase?

After further review and some consideration, it has been decided to give you the benefit of the doubt and lift this ban.  The banning admin will do this shortly.

However, consider this appeal acceptance as your one and only warning.  As you stated, you are a competitive player, so I want to point out that we do not condone the use of tweaked configs for advantage purposes nor the use of assisted firing such as the use of a scroll wheel.  I'm saying you have to roll over and play dead but play fairly and play for fun.  We're here to have fun and chat with the friends many of us have made here over the years.

Additionally, the appeal is a process so whether you agree or not, does not mean you rejoin under a different name and guid.  We welcome all new comers to our servers but do not look upon this sort of behavior favorably.  Any further disturbances and you'll be asked to move on.

Please read our rules, they continuously come up on the game screen, as not knowing is no excuse.
