So, about a week ago, I'm chatting with Stan G, and he's telling me about his badass new PC, which he bought a freakin 2080 Graphics card. I told him my graphics card died a couple of months ago, I'm limpin along with an old shitty card, and I was in the market to replace it. He offered me his old one, I asked him how much, he's says nothing. I'm like hmmm, what kind is it. Its a freakin EVGA 980 Ti. Waay better card than I had, (260 GTX) and still better than what I planned to buy 1060. He paid for shipping, and I got it today, and slapped that mutha in. It's badass, and I think it's a helluva nice gesture considering he probably could have sold it for about $200. Stan I owe ya one, I appreciate it immensely. If you'll tell me your drink of choice, I'll send ya some. If everybody will help out an XI brutha or sista like this every now and then, this will be a much nicer place. Kudos to you sir. There's another way to fix this as well, if you go into the main CoD2 Directory and then: main>players>yourname>config_mp.cfg. Open it up in a text editing software such as notepad++ or something and find this: seta r_mode "?x?" (? being your current resolution) and then change it to the maximum your monitor allows such as mine is 1920x1080. It is also down to what renderer the game uses. Find: seta r_rendererPreference "none" and change it to: seta r_rendererPreference "dx7" This will force the game to run in dx7 which is the most stable way to run the game. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY CONNECTED TO THE SERVER THE PATH FOR THE CONFIG WILL BE: main CoD2 directory>28>players>yourname>config_mp.cfg This is because every mod will make its own config file, the 'main' is different to 'xitdm' which is different to '28'. You just need to make the same changes as above. I had the same issues until I did it like that.

Yesterday we were celebrating the birthday of one of my friends. i was driving bike and having fun with them, everything was going all right but at the night we were still driving and a friend and me we were sharing the bike when he lost the balance in the back of the bike and make me fall down in asfalt. That made me a hole on my chin, it fold my left hand and i broke a tooth. I have not been cured yet, I went to a hospital yesterday but they had no supplies (problems of my country) im about to go out to a hospital, to see if they have supplies. Actually what support my chin is an couple of band aids.

In the spirit of giving and because @StanG started us off with the '12 days of Christmas', I thought I'd offer up my backup video card for any 'XI member' in the CONUS (lower 48 states) that could use it. It's an Asus Geforce GTX 970. As you can see it's only a 4GB card, but worked well when it was in my old system. Should be in working condition, but can't (and won't) guarantee. Upgraded when the MB fried. Ping me if interested

I also still have an issue with sound. If my headset is not plugged in when the game starts up, it stops and closes with no error. Plug in he headset again, then fine. But that's all after I got it working. Down side is I must play with the head set - glad it's preferred method!

The only way I have gotten cod 2 to work on my pc is by going into the game directory and setting both the cod2sp and cod2mp exe file properties for compatibility mode for XP SP3. After I did this the game worked with no issues on my end. Of course with you having different PC specs than what I have it is up for grabs but I think that is your best shot in getting this working.

Monkey, how did you install? I found later that my old original CDs would not install. Windows 10 didn't like the DirectX drivers required and installed with the games. I ended up buying it for $20.00 from Steam and works well with whatever newer drivers it uses. Good luck and hope to see you this weekend.

Definitely keep working on originals. Street gets on me all the time for posting covers. While in the 13 years of recording I have quit a few originals, I enjoy recording covers too. If you son is recording on his own (home studio), covers are a great way to learn on. Listen to the original and dissect every instrument you hear. Figure out how the artist came up with particular sound via experimenting with compression, eq, limiting, sidechain processing, panning, automation,.. the list goes on. Sound on Sound magazine is a good magazine and has many "how it was done" articles. I know personally If I hear a song be it new or a classic, I pick out every instrument in the mix. This is a blessing and a curse some times. The curse being sometimes its hard to just enjoy the mix as a whole.
