No not these dirty headlights    the ones on your car.  Take some white tooth paste and rub the lens with a rag then wash with water and they will be clear again.

Cheers Beers

The best way is to buff them with micro fine rubbing compound nad a buffer, then glaze them. If you have access to one.

This is Something I know alot about: Wanted to start a business doin this... BUDman is right, a clear coat after buffing them out is a good idea, but they will still go to shit. THe most affordable method is Meguirs PLAST X   dont use toothpaste, or any other product, they are all not as good as plastx....been doin this for 4 years, gave up on the business since plastx came out.

I bought the Mother's Kit for headlight restoration to redo Mercy's car. It works great, to get them shiny again. I tried that Plast X, and couldn't tell a difference.

I do not clear coat them, but I should I guess, cause it only lasts a couple months.

ok here is my little secret for restoring headlights.

I use 400 wet sand paper and sand the top layer of the lense it runs off dirty brown yellow I sand till water runs white. very lightly. after I finish that I take my vari speed buffer and some meguires plastic polish and polish it out. haze is gone looks almost like new and doesnt rehaze.

it only takes a little so you have a whole bunch left for polishing plastic.. I learned this a few yrs back after I bought some plastix to make regular plastic dash parts smooth and shiny. you polish a shine into plastic parts the same way you do headlights. except withut watching the runoff color

I do it all the time-I charge 40 bucks and they are like new when I am done.First u take a spray bottle with water and a little dish soap-this makes it easier to sand. Then take 600 grit sandpaper and sand them to when they are dry the white is consistent throughout the lens(no blemishes like yellow spots where the coating is still there otherwise it will show back up) Then take 2000 grit do both again real good --if you want them like new take a 3000 grit after that--then buff with a compound that takes swirl marks out like a triple buffing compound-- poof they are like new-go over with a good non-yellowing wax and that will keep them from getting yellow again. SEEMS like a lot but it should only take about a half hour for both.
