I already have the mod, but the only options in the downloader are on the old servers IP addy. Is that on my end I dont see the new servers in the config?

This is the BEST freeze tag mod I have ever played. I really enjoyed it. Most others I felt like I was a blind sloth running in molasses, but from the first round I played, I had good mobility and good hit/kill ability. I really enjoy this mod.

 

We had some of the 'keep your gun while frozen' going on with the map that has like castle walls around it that you can run on top of.. with lots of buildings and tunnels underneath (sorry, can't remember the name of the map, I think it is the one before agx_achq). I don't recall anyone getting out of their bubble though.  It was odd, because just before the ability to shoot from your bubble happened, we all respawned from the spawn point in the middle of a match.. some of us were frozen before, some not.. and then BLAM, we were all standing in spawn. After that, some of us.. once frozen, could still shoot from our bubbles.

You mean everyone in the game spontaneously respawned from wherever they were on the map? That is weird to say the least.

On POW map, there is a glitch...you can go below the map.  Check out my xfire video, forward to about :30 seconds as the round ended and I had to turn off activate to go through it.

If it was a glitch why did the mapmaker put steps or ladders in there for you to get back out?...i say leave it alone if we took all maps out with glitches in we would'nt have many left, we just need to keep on top of it.

The problem SOB is that at the end, I went into a barn where I could see out but they couldn't see me in there...I could have killed the whole team without them knowing where I was.  That would be a problem I would think...

I restarted the server around 1120 CST please let us know if there are and lag issues now.

That happens when server is full I guess no? when there are just a few players, no problem about lags.

Just a couple of videos from yesterday. First off I want to say, I love both MW2 mods they are great! I noticed a few lag problems from the "older" server, but nothing that caused me to slam my head against my keyboard or anything. The new one seems to run smoother, but like any other mod being tested, there seem to be a few glitches that have given us some  good laughs along the way. The first video displays the visible spawn protection after your rc car. This may be a desired characteristic of the mod, maybe not. I always liked the chance of instant death at spawn because it encouraged the use of the rc for defrosting purposes. The second video shows when a telefrag happened on the other team. This caused a significant lag problem on the server and allowed every frozen person(both teams, I believe) to shoot invincibly next to their iceberg thing. This allowed our team to win because Reo, in his infinite skill and ingenious tactics, slaughtered the enemy!

Just a quick thought about the RCXD Car... there seems to be a second of delay from when you've turned into the car and when you can move around... you can see it in Sooner's first video above... he turns into the car... and has to wait a second or 2 before he can move

 

I don't know if it's an intentional thing or not... just thought I'd point it out :)

the glitch u found is part of the map mp_pow there are three glitches like that, but i dont tell u where they are, because everybody would use them and that sucks. Laughing

Yes the car has a delay so the player cant still run while activating the laptop. Messes up the respawn location a little otherwise. However it can be shortened a little bit if everyone wants it to be and I am pretty sure it shouldnt hurt anything.

 

For the issue with everyone respawning, if anyone knows when that happens is it always accompanied with a telefragged message? Might be related and I will look into that today. Telefragging was added to deal with the rare circumstance when another player is standing on the location where the RC player respawns at. Otherwise there would be two players inside of each other and they would get stuck.

 

Opinion: in such a situation who should be respawned at a team spawn point? The RC player or the other player standing there?

I wouldn't say the delay is an issue, I was just purely curious.

 

On the subject of the telefragging, I think it would be best if the person with the RC was respawned personally... otherwise, the other player will have worked to get to that particular point and be moved for no apparent reason.

I saw a question on one of the vids. Telefragging has been around a long time as a way to deal with teleporting into another player. But in Unreal it was also a fun weapon. You throw a Translocator (think of throwing a grenade that looks like a frisbee) at the enemies feet. Then immediately teleport right where he is standing. The enemy is killed. Great fun. It could be done in cod4, and actually may already have been, but is outside of the realm of a modern day combat game.

Actually forgot to add... the main reason why it wouldnt work in cod4 is because it could be thrown outside of the map. Or if thrown carefully enough can get you in tall places you shouldnt be on.

The server is still having some MAJOR lag issues.  i'm not sure if it's having a full server that is doing it or what but the video that google added earlier has been happening a lot today.  999 pings all around sometimes it recovers fairly quickly, sometimes it seems to hang longer.  Very frustrating and I've seen a lot of people quitting because of it. 

 

Is that the new server that is the issue or the mod???
