We are (probably) going to Florida for a couple of weeks in December/January and  my kids have been driving me nuts with the "Disney Vacation" idea. I don't like Disney myself, I hate line-ups, bad food and overpriced stuff, I would prefer to go to Hawaii, Mexico or even Europe.... I just wanted to get some feedback from those who have had the "Disney experience". I have checked the pricing and all the other details online. Way too rosy, I have heard good but also terrible reviews about Disney, so I don't really know what to think.

Thanks

I hear on the radio that you can hire a disabled person and not have to wait in any lines if that helps.

Have a good time I hear florida is really nice.

Why not do what you want to do and what the kids want to do. You realize there is a Disney resort in Hawaii, right?

PS: I've been to Orlando and LA Disney parks and for the money LA is a much better deal. There are also many other things to do in LA in addition to visiting Disneyland.

Ah been there many times each time being worst then last long waiting time / rides not working blah blah blah.....Me personally will never go again even if its free however.....Bush Gardens is fantastic and Adventure Island right next door with all Gulf beaches within a 20 30 minute driving distance (on the loADER express that is) would be probly cheaper and offer much more .....With all that said if the children have not been to Disney then perhaps thats ur best bet for them to (say) we went to Disney....My children had more fun with Adventure Island being a water park then any where else....There are height restrictions at most parks so take that into thought when making a choice

I took my girl a few years back. We had a blast. For me was  a trip over to the Kennedy space center. All she wanted was to stay at Blizzerd beach . its a waterpark at Disney. Be ware of the water slide youll get a mega wedgie.  Have fun joe.

wasnt it space mountain? or something like that, the roller coaster was inside a huge white ball. remembered riding it and was thinking youll lose a hand if you raised your arms in the air cause the steel beams seem very close.

You can also mix a visit to Paris Disneyworld and a visit to the most beautiful country in the world  ;) It will be cold in December but you're Canadian ...you don't fear cold don't you ?

As a bonus and if you manage to keep the wife and the kids at the hotel i will take you on a private tour of the Paris red lights district !!!  :band:  :drinks:  :animier:

I'm with little old man on this one. I been to both parks and the one in Florida is huge and you need a few days to explore it all. I grew up in Southern Calif and went to Disneyland often and took my kids there when they were little. You can experience the whole place in a day and then the beach is nearby. Check out Knotts Berry Farm it's a few blocks away and has some great rides and fun stuff to do and you got to go to Mrs Knotts Chicken dinner restaurant for some great fried chicken. Hands down if you must go to Disney go to the one in Calif.

We just went in April, the kids had a blast...but seeing as they just turned 4,and couldnt ride too many of the "real rides",I could take it or leave it...waits werent too bad with the fast passes but you have to plan it out like Loader said. We spread it out over a week, and had our plan of attack set before we walked through the gates everyday. One big plus is that you are allowed to bring food and drinks if you wish, which saved a bundle there. We rented a house about 10 min. from there that I thought was a really good deal ($1000 for 7 days) with like 4 BR and 4 Baths, pool, hot tub the works..All in all it was a pleasant trip, but personally I cant wait till they are old enough for Cedar Point!!
