Installed all updates, including service pack 1. Installed IE10 & AVG as anti-virus protection. Very irritating, AVG constantly wanted to change my home page & default search engine to AVG safe search. Command window & inetcpl.cpl got me to IE preferences & set default search. Removed AVG safe search. Why the F*%$ do I have to do this in the first place? Also had to disable Adobe Flash's crap to keep pop-up ads from opening on every browser tab. Dammit, what's the use of doing a clean install if you immediately have to clean up a load of bilge from third party installations. Awards

Works Great! I use firefox browser and add two add ons. Adblock Plus with all the extra filters added and WOT or Web of Trust which warns you when you go to a bad page. They both work great and I get easy and safe browsing. TecHnOBoY, Noears711XI and LaRSin 3 Awards

It's the same with many other free programs like Java (Ask.com search bar) etc... Microsoft Security Essentials does NOT replace any antivirus program like. It's not Microsoft's business to find and remove viruses. There are companies with more know how in that. I know there was Windows OnLive, Defender and there is the MS Forefront Protection for servers. Blah Awards

If you are using Fire Foxtype about:addons in your address bar and watch out if the toolbar is already installed in your browser and uninstall it. If this doesn't help you can try to uninstall this crap on the about:config tab.Don't know the correct entries in this settings. at the moment I'll search and post them here if needed.
