I would start with a driver reinstall. I've always used this program to reinstall drivers and never had a problem. No need to use add remove programs as this tool will do it all, has solved a lot of problems for lots of people;  http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

on win8/10 go  Control Panel-System-Action Center-click on Maintenance -below you will see-Check for Solutions to problem reports-click on  View Reliability Reports.......all problems are listed on there

Another way to stop PC shutting down and restarting......

Control Panel-system Advanced settings-in box  Start up and recovery, click on settings-system failure in box"system failure " uncheck automatic restart.....ok apply restart comp

tip.... its easier to find stuff in control panel if you switch view to small icons, saves navigating through the different menus....

Worst case...

With new drivers your better off doing a clean install, download new drivers, uninstall old ones, go in C drive delete the Nvidia folders[be careful if there system ones for MB  or you will need new ones downloaded to] also go into  Users[ your pc name] Appdata, in local.local low, local roaming remove any nvidia folders, restart and install new drivers...installing new drivers over old can cause conflicts or if you have had problem they probably will still exist.....if AppData not showing Control Panel-Folder options,View Options tab, look down menu, locate ..Show  hidden files, folders and drives, check that one and Appdata will appear....

Get a time limited freebie software do all the above AppData stores  folders in there and in Temp empty them and you can re use 30 day trial again and again

Sweet @BlackRose, maybe if you weren't so damn hot, it would work fine.

Wish I had something constructive to offer, Sweetheart, but good luck.

rose hit me up on TS

NOTE: everyone  when cleaning computer parts never

spin a FAN for they become a generator an will produce 40 volts  while  circuit  is  12 volts  and will damage  to what is hooked  up to ......MB   GPU   etc

so  just hold fan from turning  ( stick a straw  in it )

folks here are right windows does like putting its own generic video drivers in place of your proprietary driver on updates.

So  make sure you have the latest  driver for your card installed.

The only way i can see a tv causing trouble is if the frequency of the tv is to high for your card you have. Some high end tv's run at 240hz. Most monitors are 60hz or 144hz. There are some high end gaming monitors that run at 240hz but they are hundreds of dollars and usually if your buying one of these monitors you already have a killer video card installed. Once you have the right video driver installed there is usually a control panel or software suite that comes with the video driver install. Run the control suite and check the frequency it is running at against the frequency specs of the tv you are using. Make sure the frequencies match. the tv specs

That should clear up the BSOD issues barring any hardware type of failures

Note:

If you are running a monitor and a tv. The card will default to the lowest frequency of the items installed.

Example:

monitor @ 60hz

tv @120hz

default output would be 60hz and may cause issues like you are having.
