Perhaps hoarders buying up the stock? Also scalpers? Saw the same thing every day with TP. Overly large populations have a tendency to create the very thing the rumor mill says is happening.

Seems that WIC has been sending Semi truck loads full of baby formula to the Border detention center warehouses. You can thank "You know who" for that as well.

And the Abbot similac baby formula plant in Michigan Recalled there products and closed down temporarily due to some sort of Germ Contamination. The new Abbott Nutrition plant in Sturgis was supposed to start production 2 days ago. They stated that it may take six to eight weeks to restock store shelves.

Michigan plant representative said this.

"Subject to FDA approval, we could restart the site within two weeks. We would begin production of EleCare, Alimentum and metabolic formulas first and then begin production of Similac and other formulas. From the time we restart the site, it will take six to eight weeks before product is available on shelves,"

I only need 1 guess for that - read a quote a number of weeks back from a mother who lost a son in the Afgan mess -"feckless dementia ridden piece of crap" - actual quote - says it all

If people didnt hoard or steal, out of greed or fear, then there would be less of a supply problem. When someone gets sent to the store to pick of a case of baby food... not a container or two but a case of containers... it just compounds any issues. But its convenient to blame others instead of looking at ones self.

Snopes says Nope https://www.snopes.com/news/2022/05/13/baby-formula-us-mexico-border/  ffs did you see that on FB? It's a real easy one to check too, because the food is all Govt controlled to a border facility it is also very easy to track. In fact it was such a ridiculous lie/fake pic it made headlines.  Wow just wow

If you need formula or know someone that needs and find some on a shelf in a store just tell them don't post it on Social media. you're not doing anyone any favors. Like when you see a picture of formula on a pallet or in a truck with a caption that says Baby food shortage, the Govt shipped it all to the Border.... Using a brain cell or two to think of the scope of it: Millions of babies in the US vs at the most a couple hundred at the border hmmm and it didn't even hurt to come up with a reasonable conclusion that It's bullshit!

I don't know. Seen it on several news networks and several Fact Checker sites to be true so it has to be true? 😉:lol:

With all due respect those I think that those "Fact Checker" sites are completely full of shit on most things. Here is one that confirms that there is a huge stockpile of baby formula in the Border Detension center warehouse but says it's Mostly False because "The claim contains an element of truth but ignores critical facts that give a different impression."

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2022/may/13/greg-abbott/providing-baby-formula-babies-held-border-legal-re/

NY Post, Newsweek, FOX and several others reported the same.

https://nypost.com/2022/05/12/border-detention-center-has-baby-formula-amid-shortage-photos/

https://www.fox43.com/article/news/verify/immigration/baby-formula-for-migrant-children-shipped-us-mexico-border-required-by-federal-law/536-528ddfe6-f8ec-4a9d-a24a-9852c333abdb

Fact is that they are expected to receive more baby food and supply's from WIC in the upcoming weeks do to the expected Upcoming Surge of Migrants in the next couple of weeks.

Some times Fact Checkers need Fact Checked. Especially if said Fact Checkers have a Bios opinion that they are calling Facts for some reason or another.

I went to Catholic Schools. Those old bags would whoop your ass quick as shit if you even think about talking back to them. Had mu knuckles bloodied a few times by a Nun with a ruler.

Funny how I swear more than a kid that went to a regular school does. It's those mean old Nuns and Den Mothers fault I tell you.

Going from Catholic Grade and Middle School to a regular school was very very hard. Back then all of the teachers and the principal had big wooden paddles. Some were just 1"x4" oak planks with a handle but some were larger with holes in them. Some were 1 handed and some were 2 handed.

@Icequeen you can paddle me any time you want ok? 🥰 lol

The simple solution to baby formula shortages is for women to choose to BREAST FEED! Women have been breast feeding for thousands of years! It’s natural it’s healthier! Yes there are a few women who have trouble producing enough breast milk so formula is a definite help. I know breast or bottle feeding is a woman’s right to choose but in the majority of cases natural breast feeding is better for the baby!

Yes there lots of babies who can’t handle the regular baby formula hence the special mixes. I’m not really sure if some babies can’t handle natural breast milk.
